LOVE IT! I always sit on the left side of the plane when departing LGA for these views!
@@PeterMasella the side you’re on doesn’t matter, there’s a 50/50 chance you can see the city on any given day. Depending on the wind it could be on the right side or the left
@@camhackett44 I know but typically my flights get radar vectors to the west or south which often calls for a left turn similar to the one you did. With runway 31 being the departure runway (based on the wind), the left side always provides great Manhattan views right after takeoff, then continuing in the next left turn. When the wind is from the north calling for runway 4, a left turn after the climb over the Bronx is typically made followed by a turn to the west or south offering Manhattan views on the left. When runway 13 is the departure runway (based on the wind), I generally pick the left side hoping that the Whitestone or Tennis Climbs will be used since those also call for a left turn over the Bronx. If the Coney climb is being used the left side doesn't provide the Manhattan view but its nearly impossible to know what climb will be used. Even the Goldman climb off of runway 13 has Manhattan views (on both sides). It gets complicated!
