I just brought this kerosene heater for $107 at Tractor Supply.
That kerosene heater you must leave a window open. I used to have the rectangle one you can cook on top more than one pan at a time, trim the wick after you put it out, it wont smoke too much when lit. Do not refuel it lit, you will catch on fire, you and the unit and area you are in
I always buy the kerosene fuel additive and never had a problem with fumes. Used a tool to brush the wick after each use. Need to pull my heaters out of the shed and give them a test run. I have not used them in years. They served me well during Hurricane Isabel. I had heat, light, warm food and hot water for hygiene maintenance. 😊

Can you cook or heat water if you remove the top grate or do just need to turn up the heat with the grate intact?
How I use to cook on the heater when I lived in A cabin in pa. I took sheet metal bent it in a shape of a C put two ends on it with pop rivits to hold it in place. Then, stainless steel hinges two of them for a door and a metal door knob, put it ove the kerosene heater, that was my oven, I baked in it. I didnt have a stove, I just made do on what I had
I basically lived on $200 monthly, I didnt work at the time, because I had front wheel drive, and didnt like snow driving, so, I stayed home
Mr. Lead. You’re on point because of you I have all of my emergency supplies I don’t have this one yet, but it may be on my next to get list. In these trying times, we as a people need to be prepared on step at a time.
Gods peace and blessings to you and yours!
thank you for that. I just want to give people as many ways to be safe as I possibly can.
I have one that's similar to this and it works great. I live in a 3 story town home and the "basement" part is above ground and it's on a cement slab and when it's below 40 here I turn it on for short bursts to warm up the area. My dad built a 15 by 10 building with windows around it and we hang out there and use one in the winter time. We make sure to put a pan of water on them to keep moisture in the air.
I have been doing the exact same thing. i did not show my humidifier in the video that sat right next to the heater.
Love your channel brother
thank you my friend. you have no idea how comments like this keep me going. thank you.
Thank you so Lead, i really love how you explain things!!!! I appreciate you🙌🏾🍃
Lead, I used one of these heaters years ago when I lived in a mobile home. Those heaters were a life saver especially after Hurricane Hugo we cooked on top of the heater.
This video was OUTSTANDING!! You are EXCELLENT at instructional videos Lead!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I will DEFINITELY purchase one of these. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!!! Appreciate you!!! Wishing you and your beautiful family a wonderful rest of the week!
thank you so very much
I love everything thing about this size for my 24ft RV. Thanks for the initial burn makes perfect sense, when the power goes out. You're the best Lead.
👍🏾🤗🌿🌱
If the ignitor goes bad and quits working can you demonstrate how to manually light it
it's simple. you just light the wick with a lighter or a match. the onboard ignighter is just a bonus for convenience.
That kerosene is $16 a gallon, $80 per 5 gallon can. Go to ABC rental and it’s about $4 per gallon, $20 per can. I use it every winter and never had a problem.
Thank you so much! I didn’t make it out! I am trapped here in Michigan until who knows when 🤦🏽♀️ we lost power last week during a snow storm. I have always wanted a kerosene heater but was afraid I would blowup my family 😅
you are so very welcome
Good afternoon Brother Lead. This is a great idea for a Tiny Home or even a small patio. I like to sit on my patio in the evenings (with a nice glass of wine) and it gets a little chilly. So this litle space heater would be perfect for me. Plus it would come in handy "in case of an emergency". Thanks for sharing this. Be Blessed and have a great week ahead. Ms J🙏🏾😊
thank you for this comment. this is perfect for tiny homes and smaller spaces. actually, it is heating up an over 500 sq ft space in my home right now.
@@leadfarmer73 what’s your recommendation for Kerosene to use in this little heater??
Lowkey nostalgic seeing you use that squeeze pump
same for me too. my family has been using them alll of my life. my dad use to light it almost everyday.
We had gas appliances growing up and we kept a kereson heater and oil lamps. But that space heater made heat, cooked food and boiled water for baths if the power went out.
Thank you for going through the steps to set up the heater. This type of heater is new to me and I appreciate the tutorial. Blessings to you and Lady Lead.
You are welcome!
I been got that and the gas this 😊I gotta buy more stuff one day I mean one month at a time😢
Thank you for always looking out for the family. ❤
you are more than welcome. thank you
Yes, that is one of my backup heat methods. Glad you did a demo. Thank you Lead.
thank you so much.
Everything about this video reminded me of my father. He loved his kerosene heaters lol he had a big ole one dead center in the apartment, and I would get so hot some nights. Thank you for this memory!
Does the klean heat have an expiration date? I can't find numbers.
no. it is very stable. you don't have to add anything to it to keep it useable like gasoline
Heyyyyy Lead farmer Good looking out🔥
you are so welcome.
Before we got our fireplace incert we had a winter where we heated solely with the bigger one of those. Left it up on the dinning room table so kids wouldn't touch it. 2,060 square ft house. It was toasty! That thing definitely saved us here in our upstate NY temps. And no we didn't keep any windows open. Old house was drafty enough.
exactly.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Same here! There was enough air movement in my home, so I did not leave a window open. It is good to have some basic knowledge about such things.
World marketing of America or dyna glow? Or is it the same thing
same thing different names
And don't put it outside when it's cold you'll break your glass and who knows what else could happen
Growing up we always had wood burning stoves until I moved out to live on my own. Can't have them in an apartment. So I used a kerosene heater that was a little bit bigger than this one. Both methods will heat your whole house far better than electric heat or natural gas heat. And will save you much money
I really appreciate you !!!!
and I appreciate you too✌🏽
I have not used mine in a while and was wondering if 4:22 I need to remove the previous kerosene. The kerosene has been sitting for a while.
Thanks for all of the options you are sharing. You and your wife are greatly appreciated.
I’ll tell my friends about this one. . 😃
thank you so much
Show how to replace wick please.
Another great video! Purchased one previously and it kept the house warm during a recent power outage. It is very important to read the directions. The Klean Heat Kerosene Alternative is good for people that are sensitive to odors but expensive. Thank You for taking the time to provide important information.
I use to use the 23,00 btu heater when kerosene was $3 a gallon about 2 years ago. Now in many gas stations the K-1 kerosene is now $6 to $7 per gallon...not cost effective anymore.
It’s not about cost. It’s about safety
For sure 🎉
You crack me up! You tried to compare the size with so many things instead of just reading the box. 😂😂😂
Amazon says it’s …
12.75"D x 12.75"W x 21.75"H
Looks great. Thanks for sharing. 💪🏼
most people just don't read the box or the instructions so I just compared it to a few things that people may have laying around the shed.
@@leadfarmer73 btw, can you just clone yourself & send him on over here please. Lol
It's very helpful when you do that.
Awesome video. Please provide an update after a few months of use or heavy usage to see how it holds up.
Will do!
One question ❓
Where to buy it and how much does it cost?
It’s in the description box below the video and it’s in the first pinned comment
Have they come up with a no smell kerosene?
yes. the kerosene that I hold up in the video is perfect. you can buy it from any store. I don't buy kerosene from the fueling stations anymore. the smell of that stuff will run you out of the house🤣
@@leadfarmer73 outstanding thank you
I use to buy a kerosene fuel additive treatment. It was unselected and worked great. I did not have problems with the smell. Just checked the WM site, and they sell a scented version online.
Thank you brother!!🤎💪🏾✌🏾
you are welcome my brotha
Great video. The safety part is appreciated. Often less can actually be more. Huge fan of small kerosene heaters, but mine like the one in your video only had a functional life of about 6 firings. My old Kerosun Moonlighters lasted over 30 years. Please come back with a long-term update as mine may have just been a lemon.
Looks like a great heater for cabins or camping.
it's perfect for cabins and camping
hey wussup my brotha!?!?!?!? every time I see you I have to smile. I always say that I miss the good ole days when youtube was much simpler and kinder. lol...
@@leadfarmer73 Same here, Brother Lead. But still so glad to see your channel success at the same time.
That is cute and compact. That compactness adds to its mobility, I really like this.
its size is one of the main reasons I bought it. it was perfect for my small cabins on my land.
It’s so cute . 😃
that is one of the reasons that I like it so much🤣
OMG perfect timing, I just bought one and so unsure of whether I am keeping it. Can I leave the gallon jugs of kerosene in shed in summer or will it blow up due to heat? Thank you so much for showing this day...it is exactly the same one.
It’s very efficient. Thanks Mr. Lead Farmer 😃
you are so welcome
You did a very nice video showing how to use the heater. I would like to see you do a demostration of how to remove the wick and install a new one- At 2 gallons the heater will burn for 1 full day. 10 gallons will burn 5 days straight-- not bad for an emergency heater👍🌝
Thanks for sharing
you are welcome
Thanks for all of the options you are sharing. You and your wife are greatly appreciated.
Thanks ❤
True information station...😊thanks big brother, I respect your ORDER🇯🇲🗣
amen thank you
Thanks for sharing always
That Kerosene Heater has been on my list, thanks for that demo... (I live in the lower desert in CA so we don't get too cold here, this weeks we expect high 70's been pretty nice here) I do have backups in case temp drop, Buddy Heater etc... wool blankets etc...
thank you
This is a game-changer for me because I am afraid of propane. Thanks man!👍👍🙏
Happy to help
Nice 👍🏾
Real good heat old school and they still sell everything for it
you are exactly right about that. you can still find tons of accessories and parts for it anywhere.
@@leadfarmer73 I also found out a few years ago about the shelf life of kerosene about 5years. Thanks Lead. Only reason I’m driving this truck to buy my land
Thank you so much Sir for sharing this information and demonstration. You are awesome. Keep doing what you're doing!
thank you.
