This was perfect! I'm starting an Imperial Fists army and wanted to keep the bases simple for infantry, and the way you did the bases in this video is just perfect!! You rock man
YESSS I've been looking for bases like this! Thank you so much for the tutorial. I'm doing an urban setting for my World Eaters, and have been trying to have them rampaging through a city. But... I don't want the city to already be destroyed like a ton of bases show lol. This is perfect!
I love this tutorial. I find most of my matches are set in urban sprawls and ruins so I don't get why so many figures have grass and greenery. THIS is what I want my Marines to stand on.
Amazing work! I’m 100% stealing this for my genestealer necromunda/kill team cult. Do you have a guide on how you painted the arbites? They are lovely.
Since its a battle torn city, you could take one of the extra arms from a sprue and slap it onto the base. Extra thematic for the Genestealer Cult with that new fancy Ambush rule. Gives the impression that they are just running past their fallen brood brothers on the way to glorious ascension.
Hey I know this video is kinda old so you probably won’t reply but how would you go about removing the dip in the middle of the bases for mono pose kits?
‘I rub my tool back and forth, applying a reasonable amount of pressure, until I am happy with the result’ - this is some good advice.
That splatter technique is next level. I will have to steal it...

Thank you for making this a full video - the shorts are useful but UA-cam won’t let me save them to my painting playlist!
Useful tutorial as always.
Thanks, mate. I would love to do more full length videos like this, they are so much fun.
Yep, I really dislike that you can't save shorts to a playlist. Such a strange strange decision on UA-cam's part.
You can on mobile.
This is exactly what I have been wanting for my Iron Warriors. Thank you so much. I will be referring others to this vid and others.
That is amazing to hear. I hope it will be useful.
I like this, I did something very similar for my zombiecide bases as it made more sense for the urban environment.
Great Video! Basing has always been a headache but this makes it feel so much more manageable! Thank you sir!
these are great! I love that you use the texture of the base itself, that's honestly not something I've seen anyone do before
Finally figured out how to base by GSC! Bit of blood and snow snow then boom - mining station revolutionaries

absolutely awesome. thanks for that. and yes, I lied to see similar videos in the future
Those look pretty dope! Regular bases kinda already have a somewhat pavement-like texture, so painting the bases as such seem like easy basing scheme

I think some subtle use of your styrene tops would make for some cool slight height variation on a piece or two. The results looks amazing, great vid.
Thats a great idea. Maybe I'll combine the two one day. Thanks.
Nice work 👍
They look awesome!

Excellent. I'm very happy to hear it. I haven't made any videos for my Arbites, but I do have a written guide here: paintpad.app/r/HC

if your base does not already have the concrete/street texture, you can first cover it with typhus corrosion and then paint it black and drybrush it
thank you RB
