Judge Thomas was right the privy council did refer it back to the court of appeal for them to decide so therefore Thomas couldn't have freed them even if she wanted to because the appeal is still in effect

The charges are still in place means that one is charged not convicted. So is it customary to put people who are charged and not convicted in PRISON? There are many people in Jamaica who have been charged with Murder but have been granted bail, go and look it up. I read off a long list of them on live yesterday morning. I was surprised it was so many. So yall can stop with the theatrics. Tell the people how they amended thr bail act recently in 2023 November, just months ago , fixing the law anticipating thr Privy council ruling and planning ahead to do exactly what they are doing now.

Here's where I don't agree. You see he shouldn't be on certain places. He's a big music star, what are you doing being a don? That's his downfall. Second thing he can't prove his innocence. If you're innocent you should be able to have proof. The only reason I hear he should be free, is the system is corrupt, yes we know that bit he was apart of it. Judge being paid off, police using the phone. These are all Kartel trying to throw out the case. So he shouldn't be free because he can prove his innocence, but be freed because of miss trial. That's not evidence you didn't do it. Take a plea
It very important that before folks make ridiculous comments they get a good understanding of the laws of the land. Learn to read analyse what's read and make intelligent comments. Too often folks just write comments based upon hear say or how they feel about a situation. Not having a proper education is a result of many issues facing our people of the beautiful island in Jamaica.

You listened to the explanation and still don't understand? To summarize, the habeas corpus application was denied b/c they're not being held illegally. They were in custody before they were convicted so the Court of Appeals must decide what will happen after the retrial hearing June 14. They may be freed after the hearing.

@@peacefam6253 if the conviction was overturned then why are Kartel and his co-defendants still in prison? Why didn’t the privy council free them outright which it had the power to do if the conviction is void? Nothing has changed about their status until the June 10th hearing by the Jamaica Appeals court. The Appeals court will decide whether or not to overturn the conviction.
