The newer variant I received recently was identical apart from being housed in an unmarked extruded aluminium case, not plastic like yours, newer variants have OLED screens too. I added my own laser engraved branding and idents for the two buttons and six power LED's. I rely on a larger spot welder for big jobs, but this portable one is just as effective at small jobs, for a fraction of the weight and cost. One word of advice though, never leave them fully charged, or near empty, as the Chinese lithium cell inside is not very well constructed and upon inspection, had no integrated safety features installed. 🤔 Keep up the good work. 👍
Congrats upon your first vid and thanks for sharing. That mini spot welder will be part of my toys' arsenal very soon, seems mega handy!! Cheers from Alberta-Canada!!!
For mine to 'stick' I have to have the power level at 4 or 5. You got good stick at only level 3. Curious if there's a 'technique' to this? I was using a plastic cutting surface, you're using glass - I wonder if that makes a difference. AND, I take it the weld should 'not be all the way through' the bottom piece of nickel? Thanks!
Seems like the only thing that this thing is able to do is to make battery packs... what if you what to spot weld something else?!! Seems like you'd be shit outta luck!!
Great video! I bought one and I'm anxious to give it a try. Seeing someone use it first is a HUGE help!!
Great first video, made me laugh with the cut and bandage.
Thanks 👍

How well has the spot welder held up and the internal battery?

Nickel coated steel is a bit easier to weld than pure nickel. I've gotta turn mine up to around 5 to get a good weld with pure nickel strips.
@@ClicksOnLinksCan it do 0.15mm pure nickel
Good thing your not reviewing carving knives and how to check for sharpness!
Thanks for this review. Do you think I can use it for 0.5 iron (like the laminated iron core in transformers, dismantled in sperate sheets)?
How do you use the “11th gear”?
Can it be used to weld two thin aluminum strip?
I'm not sure. I should find some aluminum straps and try it out
ok - all you need is for them to stick - I think it works, but you need more help with the camera than with other things you tried
