Man I can relate so much to this. I've played the Pachelbel canon with a recorder quartet, solo on the piano and in a string quartet. You can guess which one was the least thrilling ^^
Thanks, Sarah How lovely! Especially to an old man in isolation in Nova Scotia. I will play along as soon as l learn to play notes without leaking air!
I am so impressed and inspired by your professionalism and bringing a wonderful instrument, which is so readily accessible to so many and yet just as versatile as any, to the masses. I LOVE that song! Especially when its played on a piano, but this sounds so lovely, too! The first very high notes were a little strange for me to listen to, but together it's really such a beautiful song :D so glad you played it, even if I'm not a recorder player. Wonderful stuff. 45 years ago I was pretty good at this - now I'm grateful UA-cam has a slow speed function. But the amazing thing is I haven forgotten, and the daring ride through the fast passages has reminded me whythis is so good. Who'd have thought. Thanks you sooo much.
Hi, I have to say that I love your videos and your enthusiasm for recorders; I’m from México and here people thinks that recorders are just that horrible loud whistle you have to play in order to cover your “art lessons”, most people underestimate the beauty and versatility these instruments has. I have to confess that when I found your channel it was due to my obsession with tenor recorder, and to perform quartets myself with my cheap Yamaha plastic recorders, so, watching this version of Pachelbel’s cannon is fantastic, totally lovely and completely vindictive of what we recorder enthusiasts keep repeating to ourselves that these are really beautiful instruments. Thanks a ton for what you’re doing! Best regards from Mexico City.
@@Team_Recorder Hi Sarah, really interested in what you used for the multitracking. I have done a bit with Audacity. so just sound, fairly pleased with results but the video stuff looks really impressive. Just for the laughs, in Italian (the official language of music!) UA-cam translates the word "Recorder" in all your video titles with the wrong literal translation "registratore" which means "thing that can record" like a dvr or microphone, also used in "registratore di cassa" for cashier's desks. The right word is "Flauto" which is a beautifully sounding beautiful word in Italian and comes from the latin 'flare', to blow. Btw, why is called "recorder" in English?
I’d love to join in playing along with you all but I am struggling to download the correct music from imslp. Please can you be more specific about which version to download for PACHELBEL’S canon and ray au soleil and other pieces. I know I will love to tootle along with you when I am set up. The slurred staccato is most likely left over from the string arrangement. It's used when the bow shouldn't change direction between notes, but the notes should have a separation in sound.
