8:40 that is not oil, it supposed to be blood and if you feed this big guy without clear the area around you the shark and the manta will aggroed and gang you Edit: also thank you, i was waiting for a new basic video :-)
I was literally scrolling down from another video and while watching the other video was thinking about going to your channel and watching seeing if you did a thing for the Basilosaur, and sure enough,
I just tamed it today, but it got murdered by 9 Megalodons and I tried to help it out but I was killed by the stingrays and after I respawned it was killed, it was very frustrating and I’m just almost done with this game. Therizino once killed all of my tames just because it wandered too close to them. Megalodons killed my Sarco, Basilo, and Baryonyx. I’m a level 40 right now.
Always make sure they are on neutral Its not possible for some Megs to kill all those and a Theri to kill multiple tames It would kill some but not all
First, congrats on being so aggressive in your approach. I would suggest however, that you temper that enthusiasm with some patience and preparedness. Try to find an area to build your base that doesn't have a lot of aggressive creatures wandering close by...lacking that, take the time to protect your base with stone walls and/or spikes. If you have tames in the water, make sure to protect them in the same manner as well. This game has a sharp learning curve, and a lot of nuance. Take the time to learn, enjoy the small victories and always strive to learn more. I have been playing this game for almost 4 years now and learn something new every day...still.
@@wawo8358 must disagree. A high level Theri could easily slaughter all of your tames if you dont have high level Carnivores or walls/spikes to defend against it. Having them on neutral doesn't mean they will defend well, it depends on the level of the attacker vs. defenders. I recall a time when I started on Ragnarok in Viking Bay, and had a pretty nice starting base going...one night a Megalosaurus wandered down from the hills (at the time I had no idea what they were), and slaughtered me and every one of my tames.
Take a sarco (becauce they're fast) and lure the mantas to a another basilosaures you dont want then go to the land then come back to the basilosaures you want to tame
So I guess you could say that that Alpha Mosa got a "Sea Pickle Tickle?"🤭 I miss seeing Phoo doing these episodes with you☹ Come on Phlinger, Phoo lives matter dude!🤗
What I do for the mantas is go start the tame, then get back to my mount (put it on neutral) so the mantas attack it and they battle it out to get the tame done faster

I need to get me one of thoes my sarco and Barry both got killed by a swarm of jellys so I have a deep hatered for thoes things they seam easy to tame so can't wait till I get one.
Just catching up on your videos and I should’ve watched this a few days ago... lol... I actually tamed my first Basilo 2 nights ago and yesterday I tamed 2 more then started breeding. We used the Bary and are outgrowing our water pen. Good video. I’ve seen you in the past tame these so I kinda knew what to do and expect but I really do like your ABCs, pretty informative!
If you have them at Herbivore Island, which if you have a base there you inevitably will, you got a pretty easy tame. The Megalo dons that might follow it will have their fins or tails poking out of the water, giving you a relatively simple shot to kill from land, and mantas can probably be killed from afar with a crossbow or by a tanky tame. You can also tame any Icthyosaurs that might follow it and have them be guards for your new Basilosaurus.
if you are looking for one I recommend going to ragnarok and near viking bay there is almost always a basi in the area along with alphas mosas and tusos
Dude I absolutely love your channel man, I’ve watched many of your videos to help me better understand the game and learn how to tame different dinos at this point I just watch all your videos for fun
I did this with a pair of magalodons. Because it is a passive tame, set them to attack your target and get dinos to aggro on your megalodon, this way you avoid hitting the tame or other dinos hitting it.
8:30 that is not oil, that is food. They basilo are sloppy eaters. Which is why the mantas follow them. Yes make oil up to 20 units but it does stack to 100. For easy oil collecting I have a herd of 11 and every 15 minutes they make 20 organic oil. Same as a Tuso but the Tuso makes up to 70 units but much slower rate.
Bring a theri to swamp for rare flowers, tame a few low level rex females and one male for eggs. Focal chili is easy as long as you have citronal growing and you'll always have cooked meat lying around. So yes, it's hard early game, but basilos aren't early game tames. So as long as you have a flier, tranq arrows, a crossbow, citronal, access to a rex or two, and time, exceptional kibble is easy, just time consuming.
I'm playing in reduced difficulty, since I'm a total newb (and on PS4), and I lucked out and found one of these Whales stuck in water that was too shallow for Megalodons. Not a single manta on it, either!
Icthy is best to use to tame basil cause other underwater creatures ignore you. There is no need to take out mantas or sharks. I'm not sure if this is only on mobile cause that's where I play on.
I wonder if some updates have made taming easier, but I'm under level 60, found one off of rock island in the south playing The Island. Hmm, I just noticed I left Difficulty Level at 0.2. In any case, with default settings, I waited 14 - 15 seconds between feeding raw meat and it was mine after 5 - 10 minutes.
mosas in caves never attack, I don't know why, but u could go off your dino and punch an alpha mosa to death, if u have the time xD. they never even move
ok, he kinda moved in phlingers video, but they dont attack. have killed between 20 and 30 alpha mosas in caves and on different serves, never was i attacked.
I found using a couple unmounted bary's works great at clearing his pack of mantas. Sent them in with a pair of sarcos and the four of them cleaned up the mantas in seconds.
@@Kenjanz The mantas will agro and leave the basil if you can do it correctly. Park you barys near by and swim the bary you are on right thru the mantas and pull em to your waiting barys.
Why are basilos that you are NOT riding so unreliable? I have a group of basilos following me (mounted on another basilo), and they often do not respond to attack commands or even defend themselves.
