the water thing, you can drink from bathroom taps if your house is new enough (yours definetly is) because of carpentry things but if your house is too old, you cant unless you get a new water system put in.

about drinking from the tap, if you have stored water absolutely not, if you have combi boiler you can BUT wouldn’t recommend because the water still goes through the boiler and it’s definitely not the most hygienic with the amount of limescale and grit i’ve seen in there!
