A friend of mine once was in the Cantonal Hospital of St.Gallen, he had surgery. He was in the Intensive care unit. He was bored and held his air. The EKGs immediately fired a code blue automatically to the nurses and Doctors. In the room, there was a second patient. The mother of the patient was there, she was a REGA (Emergency Air Ambulance of Switzerland) flight, nurse. When the Alarm fired, she and all other doctors rushed in like crazy. Half the Intensive Care unit was with him. They brought Defibrillators and the Cart. Good to know that these men and woman are ready.
@@nunyabiz7473 Not makimg it up, and you know that EKG's show all Vital statuses, meaning if you breathe, your pulse Any everything Else. As soon as he Stopped breathing, the EKG recognized it&fired a alarm.
was hospitalized for a severe lower back injury (thought that i broke my back) and a "paperwork" mistake nearly cost me my life. The doc asked if i was in pain still, i said yes and so he gave me a shot in my IV block of morphine and a muscle relaxer. well, the paperwork from the air ambulance, initial responding medics and ect got something wrong and he ended up ODing me. I nearly instantly went into cardiac arrest, everything went fuzzy and his words sounded like an echo down a long hallway. every monitor i was hooked to went haywire and the "long black tunnel" appeared out of the corner of my eye and started moving into the center of my view. I heard him scream "CODE BLUE!!" and pull the lanyard next to my bed. everything was hazy, but i seemed to get pulled in every direction my shirt got cut open, paddles hit my chest and i got a shot of adrenaline directly into my heart (yeah...that hurt). but it instantly pulled me back. i had about 10 people around me and the 1st thing i said was "f-ck....i liked that shirt" and they all laughed that relieved laugh
true that, I remember during covid our hospitals were so overwhelmed over here in Mich. that my station (I'm a paramedic) had most of us as ER staff essentially. I was on code stroke and blue when I wasn't in the ICU ward, secondary to nurses. Lost a couple pounds at least :)

Bet your friend got more then a few looks of incredulity
Yes because holding your breath causes that much of a rhythm disturbance. Stop making shit up
