When i first saw the "will come" on AXN about this show,i said,oh here comes again, another TV Police Drama from the 80's,now,few months later, its a murder i miss an episode :D Love it ,so well done, the police suits were right the cars the action of and Heather Locklear :X That kind of girls hair and face,Blond,Blue Eyes, make we wanna i was born in the 80's but now im glad i don't.I would always go back than if i woldn't grow old and have a time machine to come back.God would be best thing ever
Loved the series, but unfortunately it lost something when Romano/Zmed left. I think they should have replaced him and given Hooker a new partner, he looked lonely in his squad car by himself. My advice would have been to return McNeil from the pilot movie, he was a good cop, at least as promising a recruit as Romano, and also a former Green Beret like Hooker.
budgets for season 5 were slashed including actors paycheck and Adrian Zmed didn't want to continue , all car chases in Season 5 were recylced from earlier seasons and they didn't even bother to put a new partner for Hooker
That's by far my least favorite thing about this season. Romano's absence is definitely felt. Oddly enough, he can be seen during the opening credits at the 0:45 mark.
Mentioned it in a comment a ways down this thread but Romano's departure should have been addressed somehow. The show basically pretends he never existed. Conceivably he could have gone to law school since that was referenced at least a few times in the fourth season. Even Captain Sheridan got a handful of references after his final episode.
@a4238088 Yea that's Adrian zmed's fault after ABC cancelled the show after 4 seasons they didn't want to pay them anymore to keep the show running. So CBS brought the show back for the 5th season. I don't know if you remember but CBS changed the show timing until after midnight. I guess they wanted to compete with carson or something lol. So CBS offered a higher offer to keep the show alive Shanter, Locklear, and Darrian all agreed to it but Zmed, because he wanted a higher percent of the show.
I Wish That My Comcast Digital Cable Company's Xfinity On Demand To Put All 5 Seasons Of The Classic 1980's TV Police Drama Series: "T.J. Hooker," Available In The Xfinity Streampix Section, Under TV, Under Genres, Under Classics, Please?
Imagine taking something from now to them a car,a camera etc and present it to people, would say its a UFO if a Pagani Zonda or Koenigsegg would have been seen on the streets :) Also imagine going back to bring Heather Locklear back,GOD knows i would do everything for this :D And she would have jumped 30 years forwards.I NEED A TIME MACHINE,DAMN IT.
The was not the same without Adrian Zmed why did he leave for and why did the show bring in a new character to replacement someone in to replace Adrian Zmed don't get me wrong I love Tj Hooker it is one of my favourites
ABC cancelled the show, and CBS picked it up for a final season, airing it on its late night schedule (opposite The Tonight Show). Since it was no longer a primetime show, the budget had to be cut and all the actors contracts were reworked. Adrian Zmed chose not to accept the lower salary offered to him and left. And it was just cheaper for them to not hire a replacement. In reality, they knew the show was on its last legs and just wanted to produce another season of episodes to get it close to the 100 episode mark for strip syndication.
+john Johnson Check them out in one Battle of the Network Stars episode, where Thomas goes first into the baseball dunk tank, and then Locklear does a great impression of her! Priceless!
I always loved the theme music of this opening but it got better being jazzed up just the right amount. This is stunningly perfect.
James Darren Corrigan character...
One Cool Dude.
Passed away on my Birthday this year No Less... Wow.
James Darren - always and forever HOT! He embodies staying power. Still going, and still singing after a 60 year career.
He died on my Birthday 🎂 this Year...
Not to be morbid.
A sign from God maybe?🙏
Gotta love the 80's with TJ Hooker, Knight Rider, Airwolf, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, etc...

I used to love this show when I was a child! I was also in love with Heather!
I, too, enjoyed this show and its peppy theme music. I also had a schoolmate who was taken by Heather Locklear.
Love the way she gently throws her baton and the baddie goes flying.
Same
Stars come and go.....Locklear will never be forgotten though !
If there was a time machine to go Bach to the eighties I would go back in a heartbeat no doubt about it fat far better than now I hate things now

That's hilarious. I debated that same question with my buddy in the 80's when we were kids all the time. I was always Locklear, he was always Thomas.
Tv was gem in the 80s
Police academies would be overloaded with applicants if more officers looked like Heather Locklear...
"The Feds couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat!!" TJ Hooker.
Agree. Its never again when 1 member leaves especially after so manny seasons
I loved this show and had (have) a huge crush on Adrian Zmed and James Darren still looks great
Its so true, I saw every episode in the full complete series of T.J. Hooker, but only one episode in the 5th season.
Especially this one.I love it.So manny good American TV Series then, and now ? 2.5 Men ? Kidding me...
this i one one of my favorite sitcomes i really miss it alot.

@@buckeyeschmave That scene was from the fourth-season episode "Target: Hooker" (OAD Saturday, November 17, 1984 on ABC).
In this season, Hooker's Fantastic Four became a Terrific Trio, but the show is still good..

Eventually William Shatner would later host a CBS show that involved police officers, Rescue 911
Heather was my girl
@bbflorance4 You can watch the 5th season on Universial HD they finally aired the last season in the begging of this week.
Damn I knew I recognized that guy's face......Vic! That's Vic Fontaine from DS9 over here, and he's hanging out with Captain Kirk!

@100572a I heard different, but do you know what time they aired the show on CBS just wondering
Far's I recall, it was the first segment of CBS Late Night at 11:30 P.M. on Wednesdays.
I like that the way this was cut makes it look like they crashed the car while she was driving 1:11
"Trigger Discipline" hadn't been invented yet ;)
Awesome cop show 4 sure!

0:57 - Doe eyes and an Ithaca 12 gauge riot gun
The sound is late.the 0:02 to 0:03 sound should have been at the exact moment he drows the gun.
@100572a Yea I know but do u remember the original air time for that night because they changed it to wedensday
1:13 oof that hurts
@100572a I guess they were trying to compete with Carson.
Why were both cars on fire?
Why did Adrian Zmed quit?
STibi He didn’t want to take the reduction in salary that went along with the show’s move from prime time on ABC to late night on CBS.
@MLKKAEFEnterprises That what's up!!!!!!!!!!!!... I AGREE
Can't compare, its Locklear all the time, and she still looks the same now, after 30 more years :D
Im the 800th liker!
