Great job re-stuffing that cap. I especially like how you are using a battery operated heat gun and a battery powered glue gun. Thanks for the video. LL
If you don't have a glue gun with a colored glue sticks you can use polymer modeling clay for the ends. Tear a piece off and stick it in each end molding it to a cone shape like the original. Then heat each end up for 15 minutes with a heat gun and the clay will harden so you are done. Great showing the process of restuffing Ron C. Thanks! Steve from IL
Thank you John. One of many ways to tackle them. A radio of this value which is collectable requires the need to look original. Alot of time, but worth it
I restuff Philco Bakelite blocks but I never considered doing the old wax capacitors. Thanks for the video. I may have to give it a try one day. Wishing you a blessed 2025. Steve
Ron, Good job, but you've got more patience than Moi, my friend. Very early on, I gave cap restuffing a try. When done, I made a command decision that it wasn't my cup of tea.😋 I'm proud to say I'm an R&R man. Good to see you back, young fella. Regards, John
Thank you John. I have been blessed with patience which is for certain. I figured give it a try here as well.. Alot of work but keeping the prize in sight always helps :) Thanks my friend.
Great to see a new video from you Ron! Sorry to hear about your better half having medical issues, I hope all is fine now. Good job on the restuff of the caps, the radio is definitely unique enough to deserve the extra work involved. I sometimes restuff and sometimes not. It all depends on how tight the radio is to work on and/or how unique it is. Also, how ambitious I'm feeling on that particular day. LOL! Take care my friend!
Great video. Simple when you know how. 👍
Thank you Terry !!

Thanks Larry - good to be busy again on this radio... cannot wait for it to sing

Thanks Gregg - I am certainly ready to jump back in. its been a long hiatus :)
Is there a tool you made to coil the capacitor leads?
@SBWings, I just use a very thin jewelers screw driver to create the coil ( you can see it at 16:44) . Nothing fancy, thank you for watching
