I remember reading a comment on a reupload that said one of the guys in the video was accused of sexual assault and thats why it was taken down. Not sure if that's true.
Great video! Its showing us how we threw away our rich heritage culture for the Arabic culture! So sad - and the worst part is-if you ask Somali people today who they are most will say that they are Arabs! We are so lost!
So you don’t notice how we threw away our culture and deen for the western world culture and so called hormar. That is so sad indeed. Our sisters wear the hijab because it is something our deen legislates and the qamiis and cimaamad was the way our prophet ﷺ and the companions dressed. We don’t do it because we are trying to be Arab. We are Somali and proud but Islam comes first before anything else. Alhamdulillah that Allah has guided us towards Islam in recent decades and washed away from us the backward western mindset our older generations suffered during colonial rule.
@@Atherion8I have a question, doesn't the 30's count as a hijab. There's a difference between muslims and arabs, I think he was talking about a somali culture that was lost, if we compare the 10's or 20's with 2019 you clearly see a difference, so yeah, they kind of lost their culture, that for me was beautiful. In m opinion globalization, or in this case "arabization" in terms of fashion is good only if you never forget your own culture and value it more than the rest
Wdym? Lol! We are not mimicking anyone! I’m so glad Islam came to Somalia! We dress like this in our household and wear our hijab.. anyways, religion over culture.

It’s so sad to see the vibrancy and beauty of Somali female cultural clothing end up lost and mimicking other regions.
