Hi Angela...i have to give you a huge thanks and kudos for this video!!! It's by far the easiest to understand tutorial on how to cur curly hair. I am beyond frustrated with salons in my area... Not only for overcharging for a simple cut, but then the cut is horrible or they snip a little iff and take you to the register and telk you, "That'll be $65."...for literally nipping the ends off .. I'm very excited to put this into practice! Thank you again for this video!
This is the best tutorial I’ve seen, I love that you’re honest and tell us that you’re not a professional but it still worked on you! It gives me confidence to do it myself
Looks GREAT!!! And you are insanely cute with no makeup. ☺️
I've been cutting my own hair for about 8 years. I've never left a salon happy, but I've only ruined my own cut once in all this time. So worth it! Great video! Can't wait to see the tutorial next week!
Awwww you are so kind!! It was too humid to wear makeup 😅 and while I still make a mistake here and there I agree with you - it’s easier to know that we’ll get what we want if we do it ourselves!

Good job! You’re very brave. I used to cut my own hair all the time years ago, and because I have thick curly hair that hides all boo-boo’s, it was okay. Today, I’m not that brave anymore.
I’m still terrified at heart 😅 but I’m also impulsive (thanks ADHD!) so there’s that 🤣
Great job! I cut my own hair all the time. It's a satisfying feeling to be able to save money while trusting my own instincts.
Still using this Tuto❤️ we have the same hair texture and I love the results so thank you so much
This cut is so pretty! I always cut my and my husband's/kids hair as well. Not a professional but I save a ton of $ and we all look good!
Just did this again. It never disappoints
You are amazing! I wouldn't dare to try this. You did an awesome job, and it couldn't look better!
I love the cut. I would have liked a little more detail in the actual cutting process…from start to finish. BUT, I will be trying this.🤞🏻
@@TheFitCurls , I saw your pigtail cut video. So what you did in this video produces a similar result, right?
Love this tutorial! I used this video to give my hair a rounder shape and more layers, and it turned out so good! First time cutting my hair, thank you for the super easy method :)
I have been itching to cut my hair! Thanks for the inspiration 😊
Happy to help!!! Feel free to check out my other haircut videos for more visual detail on the process!! xx
I just subscribed. I love your channel and your hair is exactly the way I want mine to look. Thank you for sharing with us. Also, you have the sweetest personality. 🙂
I am a fan of cutting my own hair - sometimes you get that itch that needs to be scratched! It looks great - you’re getting fab volume 😍
That itch was SO STRONG!! I literally decided that day that I couldn’t take my length anymore 🤣
Great job!!
Love the end result. Brad Mondo would be proud!
I love it this saves me from going a salon which i dislike
Awesome
I did the pig tail cut today. I am growing my hair some. It turned out pretty good. But a bit scary.
I have been cutting my own hair since 1974. I always get exactly what I want!!
Great video! Thank you!
Fantastic
Fabulous! I don't think that I can cut my hair. I'm just about to make an appointment. I'm just praying that the stylist will be able to cut my hair so that it'll turn out just like yours.
Ta🙂 great video
Your great styler
Doing this tomorrow wish me luck
It turned out amazing!
Looks awesome! I see you have Luv Ur Curls, what do you think of it?
looks amazing!!!
Ohhh looks fabulous! You did an amazing job 🤩🤩🤩❤️
Aww thank you so much!! I’m really pleased! (But now I have to figure out how to style my day 2-4 shorter hair - messy bun isn’t really an option anymore!!)
@@TheFitCurls bandanna or headband! 1/2 up 1/2 down ?
You’ll get it cutie I’m sure! 😁
You did a great job! I sort of followed what you did and am happy with the results. Do you think you will continue cutting your own hair? What made you decide to do this? Thanks!
Love, love itn
You did a great job! How do you decide how short to make the shortest layers? I feel like there is always the temptation to do more when the scissors are there. Do you think you prefer cutting your own hair to getting professional cuts?
Cute!
brave girl !
Looks great! Thanks for the video. Question, please. Do you always use distilled water in your spray bottle, and if so, what are the benefits of doing that? I don’t, fortunately, have hard water, yet I wonder if I should also use distilled h2o to enhance my curls.
Wow I just subscribed to your channel after your first video I comment there about your hair cut and I am very tempted I not sure about bangs thought but I am thinking I may need them but I don't like hair in my face......hmmmm.
This video just saved me about 300 $
Your hair looks great! I'm a big chicken to cut my own hair, lol! I do want some curtain bangs soon though😬😄
Not gonna lie, I still get nervous every time I cut my hair at home! A healthy amount of fear is good haha. Definitely ask your stylist about doing curtain bangs!! I love mine!
I wish there was a way that I could Dm you!! There's so many things I'd like to be able to talk to you about! Not just hair, but life in general. ❤️❤️
Hi i need to ask something.
I have chemically treated straight hair but naturally i have very frizzy and wavvy hair so what so i do. Should i continue to care for my treated hair or should i start with taking care of the curls as my hair have started to grow and they are getting curly from the roots
Please it would mean a lot if you could help me and my hair 🙏
After a couple bad haircuts followed by an extremely tragic haircut that had me in tears while I was still in the salon (as well as + cut a few inches off. I also managed to do some semblance of face framing layers. zzz
I swear I’ve saved hundreds of $$ at this point from cutting my own hair, but I’m still dying to try a curl specialist in my new city!
@@TheFitCurls I was trying to type that earlier with my 4 yr old trying to wrestle lol (hence the weird triple z's 😂) & thought I discarded the message cuz I wasn't done lol.
I actually have my 1st ever curly cut next week!! (And 1st professional cut in almost 20 years!) I'm so excited! And scared...
Bring inspiration photos and come into the salon with Day 2 or 3 hair!! It will make a huge difference in the consultation process - multiple forms of communication are so so helpful in a salon environment! And figure out what about each photo is what you like and what you want for your hair 🤗
@@TheFitCurls Yes! I have several pics so far! Some places say come in with unstyled hair, but this one says to come in with styled hair, to help with the consult process - which I think makes more sense anyhow. I also have several pics of my own hair on day one, and then days 2 & 3, and a few day 4s. I have close ups of my problem areas and my best areas - in case my hair decides to be super wonky on the day of the cut.
Wow gorgeous 🌈 you did an amazing job 👌 wow 😎 I try so many time to cut my hair and I messup big time each time 😪
The products you use, are they your holy grail ? I need something new that don't weightdown my hair... So much frizz and they are with no brillance. The only one seems to help is Dr. Broners leave-in pepermint lol but just a little !!!
I do really enjoy the Curlsmith products here! My husband also uses them and they work so well for his fine low-porosity hair! They’re very very lightweight, especially if you start with a small amount and emulsify like CRAZY!
Ohhh I don't see the cake shot ? Have you use it ? And when ?
I used it right out of the shower to detangle! Forgot to film that bit 🤦🏼♀️🤣
I did do a unicorn cut on myself. Not good at all. And of course Mel posted a video on it, and it really showed why you shouldn't do the unicorn. Of course.....it posted after the fact.
Oooh yeah the unicorn cut illustration she did with the Curlsmith color gel was EYE OPENING! I’m so sorry you wound up with poor results!! I hope you were able to get it fixed!!
I don’t know if I could do this I have 2-3x more hair then you.😮
What are round layers? I don’t even know how to describe that to my hair stylist…
Round layers is actually a stylist term! Round just describes a gentle taper of shorter in the front to longer in the back, making a round shape to the layers and the overall haircut :)
Nice haircut but I will leave mine to the professionals.
i just don't trust myself cutting my hair. I have messed up my bangs too many times. I have curly hair similar to your hair.
And that’s why the professionals are out there! I still have a curly specialist I want to try in my new city the next time I need a cut!
Stopped watching as soon as I saw the craft scissors
I’ve done this a couple times and I’m still getting the hang of it. It took me about 6 or 7 times through to get everything how I wanted it. I can honestly say that I’ve paid good money for a cut I was far less satisfied with, and I think it’s because I have the luxury of fine tuning as I live with it. I have wavy/curly/straight areas and it’s hard to get it right the first time through. I also can’t go back to the stylist every other day and ask them to lighten up one little section. I was so nervous when I started, but that falls away quickly. I also got slightly better quality scissors on Amazon than what I could find locally and now I’m able to do a little point cutting here and there. But cutting my finger has also happened…🙃 Looks great Angela!
Yes, being able to tweak the cut at home is so helpful! Even after a pro cut it’s so nice to have the skills to fix a piece here and there at home. There’s a huge learning curve for sure and I still get scared 🙈😅
