Richard Hurndall in "Enemy At The Door"

Richard Hurndall, who in 1983 played the first Doctor in the Dr Who Twentieth Anniversary special "The Five Doctors", is seen here in 1978, playing the role of John Ambrose in the drama series "Enemy At The Door".
Produced by London Weekend Television, the series portrayed the island of Guernsey under World War II occupation. Also appearing in this scene are Bernard Horsfall as Dr Philip Martel and Antonia Pemberton as Olivia Martel.

If you squint you can read this as the first Doctor and Cardinal Goth having an off-the-record conversation in code while the Doctor's still on the run. It would have to be a very, very complicated code, though.
