2:06 No, Rockstar has their cutscenes where characters are involved done in motion capture. @@nectarinedreams7208 I can say this, it has greater story and camera angles than half the shit you'll see out there. Best part is, it's a story you get to fully see to the end, with your actions guiding it
@@epicninjacakez6716 The quality of a story doesn't determine whether or not something is cinema or cinematic. The camera angles are obviously cinematic in some sense, perhaps the same sense that animated films are cinematic, but to call it a cinematic masterpiece is kind of absurd considering at the end of the day it's still a video game, and cutscenes are a somewhat minor part of that. It's definitely a video game masterpiece, though, and that's no more or less impressive than a cinematic masterpiece. I'd also strongly disagree that the camera angles are any better than most film and TV out there. Maybe you're watching the wrong shit.
Regarding the acting: This game was recorded basically the same way a CGI scene in a film is, all the actors are together in MoCap, they're shown what kind of environment they'd be in but the stage is just like, empty or some steps if needed. Because it's a game engine, and thus, doesn't need to be pre-rendered, they can even see how they'd appear in the game and review their scenes from the games perspective. There also was alot of stuff recorded the traditional way too in a sound studio, but all the cutscenes and custom animation stuff was done on these stages.

The atmosphere and the face expressions of the characters as hero and villain… that’s the MasterClass of introducing the villain to the player. So there’s a rumor that I’ve heard that Rockstar consulted numerous people in the movie industry, including Roger Deacon, in their cinematic scenes. Just a rumor but still interesting.
False rumor. Roger Deakins never worked in the game
They did however copy one of Roger Deakins’ scenes which I think he has talked about it in an interview
Man, it’d be dope if he made a play through and upload it here on UA-cam!
Can yall make a really famous actor react to games?
I would love to see that too!
He was right, the mission where Arthur gets on top of the oil wagon it’s based off of Roderick’s work
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - PLEASE MAKE HIM REACT TO IT
