- "This morning is one of the darkest in this seven-month-long nightmare," said Jens Laerke, the UN humanitarian office spokesperson, during a press briefing in Geneva on Tuesday. This statement follows Hamas announcing its approval of a ceasefire deal. However, the Israeli military seemingly ignored it by sending tanks into Rafah, in southern Gaza, to seize control of the border crossing with Egypt. The United Nations stated that this operation has denied it access to this crucial humanitarian passage.

The hostages know who took them from their homes, imprisoned them, tortured them etc. There are still over 100 hostages unaccounted for. It is likely that only between 30 and 40 are still alive. Many of those still alive are reported to be clustered around Sinwar, so he can use them as human shields.
The UN should be disbanded and a new one formed with the inclusion of Brazil, two seats for Africa, three in Asia, two in North America and two in Europe

The UN security council has tried to act, but the US vetoes any sanction against Israel. Last week, the US voted against recognizing Palestinian statehood. My point is, the UN cannot act without the approval of the global hegemon (US) that is protecting its client state (Israel). Those are the rules because the US helped write the rules. Also, it's 25k over 7 months, not 35k in mere months.
That 35k is a fabricated number, including ALL deaths in Gaza.. Hamas doesn't have the ability to get any numbers right now... and even then it's the total mortality rate, not the EXCESS mortality rate caused by IDF's collateral damage. For example, there's like 10k non-civilians, like Hamas fighters. Also, natural deaths and non-weapon-related deaths due to the war's impact on services are included... pre-war mortality rate would have seen some 4500 people dead over the same time period.
So the number of civilians killed by the IDF directly (or indirectly from injuries) would be around 10-15k. Which is still terrible, especially if it's your family among the number, but for a war of this type and magnitude, it's extremely low...
Normally you expect 10x the number of dead when attacking such an extremely dense population center as the Gaza Strip...
The Jews lost millions let that sink in.
Also, the dead are women and children! Israel is evil and also cower. Few rich men/women bought and controlled the Western politicians.
And that includes over 16,000 innocent children. At least here in the UK during WW2 we were able to evacuate all our children out of the big cities to safety in rural areas.

None of this would have happened if both sides agreed on compromise with 2 state solution but Hamas refused it and now after 7th of October massacre even Israel is refusing it. Who would have guessed it was gonna happen. Hamas stated that there can be no peace while Israel stands and Israel stated that there can be no peace while Hamas stands. Israel did warned civilians about the incoming attacks but at that point Hamas was using civilians as human shields in dozens and they still had nowhere to go. Not sure if UN or rest of the world would have been able to do anything about it. In the end it was series of decisions made by Israel and Hamas. Its a shitshow but unless both sides agree on some kind of compromise there is no way around it. People are gonna die.

Why would they believe a ceasefire was agreed too. It takes both sides to agree to a ceasefire and the terms agreed upon. Just because Hamas agreed doesn't mean it was accepted.
