- Chandran Mess is located in Madurai city. It is famous for its authentic South Indian Non-Veg food. Here they serve fresh and tasty food. My favorite was Kola balls and Lamb curry. I enjoyed the food thoroughly.

Iam a old customer of chandran mess during 80's & 90's it was really good, tasteful and the cost also affordable ( during my college days during 91-95 i used to have very frequently with my pocket money!!!! believe i used to have less amount only but managed to have here) the treatment also will be good even if you have veg lunch with only omelet when they are in opposite small place having folding tables and wooden benches but now really it is not having the old taste and the cost also too much and not affordable to middle class people ( I think now it is managed by his son who studied MBA!!) and the treatment also not good for normal eaters they take care of people who orders more non veg items moreover after modernization!. Moreover AMMA mess, Chandran mess kind of hotels surrounding talakulam area runs based on the offices like PWD, EB, Highways, Corporation, Forest, Commissioner Office nearby !!!! (imagine what kind of people transacts!!) To be frank these messes are lost there fame and taste by getting more commercial.

I am basically from Chennai. was stayed in madurai 2 years for officials purpose. I tried most of the mess and restaurants in madurai. Chandran mess is my most favorite mess. Especially kola urundai.ayrai meen , Eral masala and lot.
I use to eat most of the Sunday in chandran mess. When I see this video I happy remember my madurai days.
