  • Hello!! How is everyone? It's been a hot minute since I posted a video but this past month has been so busy. With packing, moving into our new apartment and voice over gigs time has flown by and also I just needed a little break I think from uploading.

    I liked this video because it showed your everyday life in Shanghai which seemed quite natural and without pretense. If I didn't know any better, I would've thought this was a normal day recorded somewhere in the US or Canada. I wish our fellow Americans can see your video and get a perspective of China that is different from the negative depiction usually presented in our media.

    Shanghai has more coffee shops than any city in the world .There are over 8000 coffee shops in Shanghai and the number is still growing and growing fast.

    I have moved into brand new empty apartments twice before. Just tons of works. I hope you do not have to install those Ikea cabins yourself.

      It’s a lot of work! But not too bad. We had someone assemble our bed but the cheaper items we are doing ourselves

    Did you return/exchange the mattresses for the right sizes? Especially since your kids are all tall.
    I would love to hear the results of these voice overs! That is great you keep getting more jobs.
    I have never heard of Peet's. Must be a thing in the west in the US.
    I don't understand why people would carry a corgi or a dog like a baby, when dogs are capable of walking. . .

    The biggest difference with IKEA in China and IKEA in North America is the huge amounts of EVs parked in the parking lot. You can tell if it is an EV simply by looking for the green license plates versus a blue one for ICE cars.

    New vieren yay! I have saw news there are new transportation lines opening soon connect the area you live (and I lived) to the city, would be easier for you to go around! (For me it was too long of metro rides)

    床垫这种东西影响睡眠的。。
    推荐买中国产的。1500RMB。就能买到25-28厘米厚、在欧美卖3000美元的床垫。(都是中国代工的)
    有独立弹簧和多层填充物。

      西方人喜欢软床垫,其实对腰不好,应该用硬床垫,尤其对于中年人。

      硬床垫会带来一系列问题。床垫不是软硬的问题。而是支撑问题。需要你在躺。侧卧。各种动作的时候。保持脊椎平行。全身支撑。
      硬床会带来血管问题。心脏问题。很多人压的手麻了。长期这样会生病的。

      Thank you for your suggestion. We purchased a firm mattress that is perfect for us. Our last one was way too soft. We also trust Ikea and their products.

    If the rental in shanghai drops 30%, for instance, a condo with 600 square feet cost 500 US dollar a month, and salary increases 30% ,2000 US dollars a month after tax, many young graduates would be happy working in Shanghai. Currently the Chinese government aim to achieve this target, It might be achieved by 2027.

      You can find that in Chengdu, but I think $650 is still reasonable for a top3 world city that Shanghai is.

      @@tonysofla The quality & affortable apartment is what young graduates want, The quality of an apartment = a newly decorated house with all fornitures and electronic appliance included, ready for move in, and close to metro station or bus stops.The affortable price = the rental cost shall be within 20% of average salary in a city. Some people moved out Beijing or Shanghai because the living cost is getting expensive, therefore, To lower the rental or increase salary to make life easy is what a government shall provide.

      @@tonysofla therefore USA government shall make some policy to lower the rental. because, if rental is soaring up, while salary does not increase, it means young people suffering. if salary is increasing, means everything made in USA becomes expensive. the correct policy is to find a way to control housing market, esp. the rental market.

    I remember IKEA has its refund policy and then you can bring them back to any of the shops and get the money back

      A lot. Lol! We have a stipend for our housing. This one is 15k¥ a month. But they are owned by individuals and prices differ for every unit.

      Yes very much so. Foreigners are coming in but many are still leaving unfortunately.

      @@melissa_renee You're voice fit perfectly in that trailer. Video games are the biggest entertainment industry, bigger than movies and music combined. One reason is because of mobile gaming. That's a pretty cool accomplishment on your behalf, being part of it.
