A tool to make a tool to make a too:) a chicken and the egg kinda Thing. Im happy to hear you enjoyed the video:) Hope you are doing well and have some great projects.
Hej again from Nova Scotia, Canada. What a beautiful handle you fashioned. Your craftmanship skills see no limits. Looking forward to your next video. Take care and stay strong💪
Hello Daryl. Thanks for taking the time to watch and also Comment. I appreciate your feedback and im happy you liked the video. All the best. Stay strong:)
Nice work, a knife is a practical basic tool that man has carried for every day use for a long time, no matter if he was a forester, farmer, or raider. Enjoy your journey.
thank you:) You are so right. I also use the knife alot for making holes in wood and antler in my projects. This knife is specifically made for that with a special tempering. All the best:)
Great video! I enjoy seeing the wildlife! We don't have wild boar so much up here! Deer, moose ,wolves yes! Magnificent looking animals! Love the knife ,especially the simplicity of the build! Thank you!
Thank you Ian. The wild boar population In Denmark is very small and kept in controlled areas. These shots of the boars Are from a 1400 hectar forest thats is fenced. Its a it sad but the danish agriculture asociation fears that our huge production of pork mest could suffer from diseases bought in from contact with wild boar. But at least a few small populations of wild boar Are kept in big protected forests for people like us to get a chance to see these animals. Im forgot where is it you Are from? All the best
Awesome! Going to try this with my found gifts from nature... Love how you include the most important part of any undertaking... feeding the craftsman 🦌🍃
Thats great to hear. I Hope you make a great project. I always like to bring a little food. Mostly trying to be authentic with it and its always Nice to get a bite. Even simple bread and Cheese. I have always felt that food tastes Better outdoors. Enjoy the weekend Laura:)
Wow, the deer look so majestic! And holding this tool in your hand, you will be connected to the forests, and to the stag that gave you the antler. It's easy to see how connected our ancestors were to nature, how they might have perceived the spirit of the animal being retained in the knife. I'm a subscriber to Lufolk's channel too, you make me realise I should run over and leave some comments on his vids too! 😂 You've done a great job on the knife! I love how it turned out! 😃 The heat from your hand doesn't soften or melt the resin glue I trust? And I'm interested in hearing how the experiment with a softer tip performs over time. Have you considered making a tool to carve the ring-and-dot design that appears on some artifacts? Always wonderful to come along on the crafting journey with you! And as always, a hearty thank you for sharing my friend! 😃
Hello:) thanks for this nice comment. I really like your thoughts on the connection with the forest. I totally get you. I am really impressed with Lufolks work and our conversation about this collaboration was really pleasant. And the blade is amazing. Its a really good question about the hands heating up the glue. So far I have not used the knife long enough to get experience. I have made several combs with the same glue for decoration. In those cases there has been no problems, but also you dont grip the combs as tight or for that long as you would with a knife. The glue I made gets very hard when it hardens, so i dont assume it will be an issue. I am quiet confident that it takes alot more heat for the glue to soften up than my hands will produce. I will keep you updated on this. Thanks for coming along for this adventure. All the best my friend.
I have a tool for ring and Dots. I use it in the antler belt buckle video. I love that design but with this handle i wanted to follow the original design with only lines. I Will also keep you updated on the softer tip
Oh that's right! Sorry, I have seen your ring and dot tool! 😂 I forgot to ask you, how long is the blade of the knife? I'd love to try my hand at forging one myself!@@RAMUNI-Viking
I just found your channel. It's soooo cool! It must have taken ages to collect all this amazing authentic gear! I'm fascinated :) I think I have to watch all your videos now and I'm sure I will find tons of inspiration. Awesome, my friend! Just Awesome! Greetings from the region of the Armalausi tribe :) Julia
I has taken some time yes:) but its a labour of love. I Hope you enjoy some of my other videos as well and find plenty of inspiration for your own projects. Best Greetings:)
Thank you. Great to hear from Chile :) do you mean of my knife had wood at the hilt? Or the original? Or if other knife handles form the viking age was made from wood?
Most Viking knife handles i know Of is just one material for the whole handle. Bone, wood, antler. So No specific piece for the hilt. But im sure there is examples.
Using historical tools to make more tools. I love it.

I have a question about the hilt, was wood also used to make it?
I love your work, greetings from Argentina. 🇦🇷
Thank you. Great to hear from Chile :) do you mean of my knife had wood at the hilt? Or the original? Or if other knife handles form the viking age was made from wood?
@@RAMUNI-Viking If anything other knife handles from the Viking era had a wooden hilt (sorry, I am not good at writing in English)
There are many examples of wooden handles. But with hilt do you mean the last part right before the blade?
@@RAMUNI-Viking Exactly! If that part of the knife
Most Viking knife handles i know Of is just one material for the whole handle. Bone, wood, antler. So No specific piece for the hilt. But im sure there is examples.
Pray for me that my GOD vindicates me and brings HIS wrath on my enemies.
I appreciate the comment Levis. But i do not pray unfortunately.
