Motorcycle Live 2023: Herald 4K
This is my video from the Herald stand at Motorcycle Live 2023 from the NEC in the UK. I've been a fan of Herald's bikes for a while, from their styling and design they apply to their 125's and 250's that really make them stand out as budget bikes to the rather nicely designed Brute 500.
This year is mostly new colours, but I thought you might like to see them anyway, in particular the green and gold Brute which is one of my favourite bikes from the show.

the Brute 500 is all made in the UK but the tank I believe, certainly only the engine is Chinese and also used in the Fantic 500, they make the frame and swing arm and numerous other parts in their factory in Huntingdon and what they can't make they have tried to source from the UK

Thanks! If the engine is the same as the Fantic 500 Caballero, that’ll be the Zongshen 450 single, much like the one Kove put in their Dakar bikes. I know they try to do as much here as they can, but at the same time trying to be practical with manufacturing costs so they have bikes they can sell.

I didn’t get to see the Heralds at MCL, which is a shame as I like the looks and simplicity of the range. One of these would be ideal as a knockabout-around-town/pop-to-the-shops ride. BTW it was good to meet you and have a bike-related chat at MCL 👍

@@PeakMotorcycles definitely appear to be a fun ride, I’m sure they are. I personally like the scrambler look... I can see myself pulling up to the block party on one. A bit more suitable than my 300 Rally for bee bopping around town. Where are they manufactured? Are they available in the US?

@@airadaimagery692the 500’s have an Zongshen 450 single similar to the one in the Fantic Caballero 500 (and my Kove 450 Rally). Most of the rest is made in the UK. I’m guessing they’re not exporting to the US I’m afraid.

These Heralds look pretty good.
The Brat 250 was my favorite of the lot.
I actually already have a great moto stable.
The Honda CRF300 Rally for playing in the dirt, the Kawasaki KLR650 (my personal favorite) for all around use, and the Triumph Scrambler 1200xe for long motorway rides and the occasional off-road jaunt.
Knowing me, I’l probably eventually trade in the Scrambler 1200xe for a Triumph Tiger 1200.
I learn a lot from the bikes you show us, and really appreciate the work you do to keep us informed.

Thanks! And yes, the Heralds do seem to be filling a gap. Not many manufacturers are making uncomplicated and good value bikes in the UK. I suspect the engines are based on something from days gone by in Japan, now made in China, but for under £3000 in the UK they look good and probably go well enough.

That Herald 500 in green was my favorite bike at the show. I was so excited about it i forgot to get a photo of it. I am now tiding up my Ducati to trade in

Awesome! I think it's a great bike. It might not have 150hp, but for a nicely made, lightweight, well priced motorcycle, I think they're great. Not sure all the colour schemes are to my taste but the green one looked fabulous. A fine choice!

Herald is a good name. I learned to drive in a Triumph Herald. I don't like small engines. Dreadful paint jobs. Nick
