Thank you! The 2gr should be roughly the same process. The difficult part is choosing the transmission you’ll use. S53 can handle the power/torque (mines twin turbo) but gearing for top speed is trash (needs a longer 5th gear), but you can use factory 1zz axles which makes things so much easier. E153 is expensive but a better option. Needs custom axles. I believe you can also use an eb60 or eb61 trans but those are pricy, and same custom axle problem. 1mz and turbo makes good sounds, more power and a fraction of the cost. Definitely do some budgeting and planning

@@galkawarrior 1mz+99 celica GT transmissions are very cheap, reuse your axles and everything should fit. you may need to make hood pins/move the radiator support forward. With the Hype of the new GR yaris, i think it would be good for the channel
AndysAutowerks as you may already know, the 2ZR-FE are straight bolt in for my Yaris though, really effortless, only additional wiring needed would be to power the speed sensor. I was looking for a Scion xD donor, but now you got me thinking differently. I’ve done a bit of research, the 2ZR weighs the same as my stock engine 1NZ, gaining a respectable 30HP with the best stock tuned (138HP) 2ZR. The 2GR weighs an additional 170lbs, but I’d gain150HP from the lowest stocked tuned (268HP) 2GR. My only fear would be wiring.
Measure the inside of the circle and get led rings from eBay, use silicon adhesive to secure them to the inside of the lens. Basic positive and negative wiring, tap into your tail light wiring positive and negative wires
@@sonora29 depends on your skill, all you have to do is join both harness together. As long as you have the wiring diagrams for both ECU’s you should be able to figure it out

@@galkawarrior you do a V6 for the sound and the torque but i say for the 1mz wiring it shouldnt be any harder if using the original ECU

No it doesn’t work sadly, you need a custom clutch set up which is why I went with the s53/54

This is obd2 compliant, it passes emissions here in MA, I know CA Is pretty strict but I’ve seen a lot of kswaps there which won’t pass emissions
If you have a 00-02 Spyder, this should be possible. Just configure it like a 00-02 Solara.
