Blows me away listening to Jimmy Page playing Whitesnake songs
Yep, but Jimmy was a session musician for years so he's used to playing others' music.
This concert was done just a few years after Coverdale was on top of the world with Whitesnake. A great singer.
Coverdale's voice at his best. Astonishing performance
The only precious Live in the world held in Japan! Coverdale's voice is the best and Paige's guitar is also clear.🎉
I never thought in a million years that Jimmy Page would cover Slide it In, lol...
What a GREAT album these two made!!!!
EPIC!!!
I think that album has Coverdale's ever vocal performance. He was at his peak. He lost his high register after that tour. Still great today though.
Great show. Coverdale was atop his game (huge improvement over the later 80s) and Jimmy Page sounds as good as ever and his tone is killer!
Jeez. 30 years ago. That was a flat out kick ass concert. Nothing like it out there now. This should be mandatory watching. I saw Zep,then saw Whitesnake decades later. Perfect combo.
DC on fire, brilliant.
Coverdale/ Page was one of the Truly Great Rock CD`s .....
Coverdale/Page, un album spettacolare e incredibilmente sottovalutato. TOP!
Glad whenever I can see and hear Pagey play. Doesn't have to be Zeppelin. I met him when he did a gig with the later Yardbirds with Jeff Beck. He and I had a xhat & cigarette outside the Armory in LaPorte Indiana back in 1967. Decent dude too.Peace.
ペイジの音が聴きたいと望むファンが何しろ多い。その奇跡的な事実を、何よりペイジ氏本人に知って頂きたいです。
Such a great partnering of talent! I so wish they had recorded more and toured more, but we still have this one incredible album and videos like this. Simply outstanding.
Coverdale Page the best super band in the '90's . I love this mix of ZEP and DP that comes out from this jamming project!
Excellent, the important thing is to praise rock, two different figures, but with the same weight, vanity, we leave aside those who are good only sing with those who are good!!!
This is unbelievable, out of this world, freaking AMAZING!!!
Lucky was the ones who could watch then playing together
Jp playing still of the night . Wish I could have seen it live .
Excellent. A pity more fans of Page/Coverdale haven't watched this video. Quality is meh, but the sound reproduction is pretty darn good. Y'know, when Pagey is on, he really is ON. Great performance. And overall, I like Coverdale's voice with Page's guitar. Good stuff.
Marti Basham this cooking rocks it's all about the music🌈
You have to remember, this is an audience recording from 1993, a time that recording concerts was still frowned upon. As someone who is more than old enough to remember some really crappy bootlegs, believe me when I say that for the time this would have been considered very good. Not to mention that this was a great show. It's a crying shame they didn't do more together.
@@stevenslagle5186 you got that right Coverdale and page were bad ass!
@@stevenslagle5186 Because Plant wanted back in. Saw Page/Plant in 95 and that was also very good. Better then this but this is also very good. Long and forgotten. Glad a view vids on YT to even document it even happened.
I had a double CD of yoyogi, Japan... My gosh it was incredible.
those two elegant, rnr royalty men were on FIRE.
Oh My!
What a great combination! Simply AWESOME!!!
Jimmy 😍 wonderful!
So underrated best guitar album of the 1990s. Unsurpassed! Great tour too too bad it was short and didn't last. Hopefully a chance of New songs for the re-release Coverdale wants page to record so there is a chance ! ?
VIRTUOSO EXPRESSING IS FEELINGS..!! SUPER....
great album
Awesome... when I teenage everything I wanted were Coverdale singing led zeppelin ... then my dream turn real... 😍
Was there ever more than just this one show? God damn! Coverdale on fire and Page ripping it up!
Thank you for sharing. Awesomeness
This is truly amazing 🤘
Cool!!! Love them! 🔥💖💖💖💥
Wellcome to this is " Take a look at yourself " ... oh! Welldone : ... ☆☆☆ ...thank you so much to let us enjoy🤔
Absolutely killerrrr...!!!
OMG, What a treasure. Coverdale/Page, excellent, therés nothing more to say...!!!
I like to think that there was a time, brief, and just for a couple of numbers, that Jimmy Page was the guitarist for Whitesnake. And that is fookin' awesome!
Yeah that was really something, Page playing the whitesnake song
We’ve had Deep Sabbath (Gillan joining the Sabs) and Deep Zeppelin (Coverdale Page). Would have been cool if Glenn Hughes was playing bass and sharing vocals here, with Jason Bonham on drums. Now that would have been a supergroup!
LZ is SUPERGROUP BY HIMSELF 4 Genius in ONE TIM!! No need anyone ad,,,!! And we have waiting next billion years 😂😂😂on “ New LZ”!!😂
Denny Carmassi is a badass on the drums, heavyly influenced by Bonham
if you think about it, David Coverdale has worked with many of the most legendary guitarists around
Just out of curiosity, what guitarists has DC worked with that you THINK are "legendary"? I can really only think of 2. Tommy Bolin and Blackmore are the only two. I don't put Vai as "legendary"..
Oneness100 interesting thoughts. Obviously Page is another. Probably would include Vivian and John Sykes.
@@Oneness100 YOU won't put Vai as legendary... luckily it's only you ;)
@@realmusiciswithinstruments9915 No, I really wouldn't. Why? Because he sounds like other gimmick players and he really hasn't done anything THAT unique. I honestly can't tell it's him playing compared to other guitar players that use a lot of effects, excessive use of a whammy bar, etc. I also don't listen to him all that much.
Technique wise, he has all the moves, but I find what he does very pretentious. He's just not on my list of Top guitar players. I know that people like you are impressed by his playing, but he's not impressing me.
I do like the way he flings his guitar around his neck. That's a cool trick.
@@realmusiciswithinstruments9915 Didn't Vai get beat out by Ralph Machio in a guitar battle? hahahahaha. You can't be that great if you get beat out by Karate Kid. /s
Fuckin'Hell!!!!!
The best version of "Rock'n'Roll I ever heard, by far!!!!!
And probably the best version of Coverdale, never seen him like this!!!!
Cojones, thousands of it!!!!
カヴァーデル・ペイジのライブ映像が残ってるなんて超クール!👍
このコラボは二度と見られないだろう。
ロック好きは絶対観るべし!
The album they put out is excellent! I just discovered it
ha,me too..last week actually;only took me 28 years to get around to it,man...
素晴らしい
Led-Snake...MONSTRUOS del Rock!!!
This is brilliant. Page on Still of the Night... weird and brilliant.
Too weird. Playing a cover of a song that was pretty much a blatant impersonation of him. Get your head around that.
@@Twotontessie I don't know about you mate, but to me Still of the night sounds nothing like Jimmy Page. The guitars sound like the typical glam metal song.
Also weird to hear David sing Kashmir. It really is Robert's song.
@@Chris-Ian Actually it bears a lot of Page's phrasing style. The guitar sound is much crispier than Jimmy's, but if you listen to earlier demos, you can hear the similiarity very clearly. Not to take anything from John Sykes, he really took that inspiration to the next level and left his own stample over it.
@@steelin666 I haven't listened to the demos, maybe you're right :) After all, Jimmy was and is an inspiration to generations of guitar players worldwide.
So underrated.
I'm here to watch Pagey. Period. Full Stop. He is WAY too good for these bands. I feel a sadness....nostalgic for his true limelight and magic of Led Zep. I'm 63 years old and my feelings will never change. I think it's part of my DNA at this point. God Bless Jimmy. I love him.
👍
👏👏👏👏👏JPP IS GENIUS!!!☝️☝️☝️☝️
Way too good for what bands?
Concert back when you rarely had to pay more than 45 dollars for a ticket to rock!
I paid 14 dollars for my first concert ticket……😊
Fuck yes, thank you
Merci infiniment!!! Super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jimmy page's best guitarist of all times !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for shearing pal!
Coverdale es la mejor voz del rock, cuando lo oigo en este concierto me erizo, algo que no me pasa con la música actual de los demás grupos y la piel es el termómetro para saber qué estamos frente a una obra.
Pure Class ~
JIMMY como siempre fantástico
aCTUALLY very good and this is from a die hard LZ fan. First time I here them together/sounds damn good. I always thought Coverdale was a cheap rip-off on Plant. But in concert they do sound very very good.
You probably don't know where Coverdale and Page and others singers of that generation get their influences .
Its not a Plant thing.
Listen Steve marriot , James brown , Wilson pickett and you have the answer in the High screechy scream .
But There s notably differences =
David is a baritone , and His growling and phrasing is pretty much along Howlin wolf , and aretha franklin even in phrasing of notes turns .
So basic tone have nothing to do with PLANT , who is a tenor .
And i guess you never realized that David fronted Deep Purple in 1973-1976 , did 3 albums , did 2 solos albums blue printing Whitesnake in 1977/1978 and did 8 records in Whitesnake between 1978 and 1984
He pretty much established his style all this time and its not Plant wannabee at all.
So i don't think why suddenly in 87 he would emulate one of his peers
And no David isnt a Plant wanabee suddenly appearing in mid 80's .
Also David high screams are more in the ..non really operatic but Gospel thing , it have resonance and Vibrato standing.
Wide vibrato .
Something that Robert Plant Never did , plant is straight scream .
@@Nissardpertugiu The Coverdale/Hughes dual vocals in Purple was phenomenal. A deep bluesy baritone, and a freak of nature tenor trading verses. To this day there hasn’t been a dual vocal lineup of that magnitude. But you’re right, Coverdale and Plant have very little in common other than the ‘70s mega group screaming vocalist thing. I think the Zeppelin sound that found it’s way into Whitesnake might have been coming more from John Sykes. Before those two albums he was on, WS sounded much more like a continuation of MKIV Deep Purple. Ready and Willing sounds like a follow up to Come Taste the Band, especially with Lord and Paice on both records. And Martin Birch engineered them both. Heck, if Hughes would have been around for Ready and Willing it really would have been a MKIV Purple album practically, minus Bolan’s writing.
I don't know what to say about mimicking Plant .. DC u r beautiful and do Plant very well. Ur a gem. Cindy is a lucky woman
Judy Marquis DC is just about the only guy who can fill Plants shoes and he even looks a lot like him with the blond mane of hair. He can really belt out a song! I didn’t realize he had such a big Voice just like Plants. Different sounding but still Huge Vocals!
@@dynjarren7523 he has bigger voice than Plant .
David is a baritone ..
More body in this voice .
The only similarities between Robert and David come from James brown and Steve marriot .
Not David copying Plant .
They dont sound alike .
David is more fat , Heavier , soul ..
With a growl as Howlin wolf
my only disappointment was the stripped down acoustic Take a Look at Yourself, an otherwise masterpiece of a song when performed in full force.
Take Me For Little While: cosmically inspired by the universe and these two amazing men. Splendid; inspired. A beautiful song to make love to your one and only.
TWO MONSTERS OF ROCK...
Awesome!......The solo page did for "Take me for a little while" sounded a little Stairway-ish !

Nice to hear LZ songs sang in tune and and the non-sloopy guitar work.
Any live zep from 69 to mid 72 has in tune singing and great playing and anything from 69 to 73 had fantastic guitar playing. The out of tune singing only starts in late 72 and the sloppy playing only starts in 75. Pages playing here has nothing on his 69 to 73 playing. 69 to 73 zeppelin puts this to Shane. Its curious why so many talk about pages playing and plants singing like 69 to 73 never happened . The good performances from 69 to 73 far outnumber the bad ones from latter considering most of their touring was done in the early years and barely toured in the latter years civderdale sounds pretty out tune at points here like Kashmir for example. If you do not want to hear sloppy playing from page or out of tune singing dont listen to anything past 1973 . Page was also playing better than this is 98 with plant and in 2000 with the black crowes . The new York and Los angeles shows from 1977 feature great playing and singing as well . The endless sloppy playing it's such an exaggeration when you compare the grewr shows to the bad ones the good ones far outnumber the bad
There is just no one like page
The song I always wanted to hear Jimmy Page play was Slow n Easy. I played it in my car one day and my friend said what Led Zeppelin album was this from? But they didn’t play it :(
Pleasin' me on to enjoy in this :Page,Plant ... on stage oh ! wonderful from " Osaka " ... Domo wasaima*🤔
Jimmy: *changes into a t-shirt with himself on it*
I think it is a Coverdale/Page shirt.
It's a pity that this amazing concert one can watch just in this poor quality! It's a pity that this Super Duet didn't realize all their plans!
I think the Quality is OK if you compare with some lousy bootlegs
Irene Ant,
DC contrived the plans, but Jimmy put those plans on hold permanently, especially after this. David C did not handle the disbandment very well and stalks Jimmy. At least DC stalks in the shadows now, instead of bugging Jimmy right out front. When Jimmy is mad at Bobby, he throws DC his way, and Bobby throws him back. This is how David C gets all his gigs, by starting trouble. Ritchie has done the same to Ian, and vice versa, when it comes to DC. Yes, the word game gets quite vicious.
@@rosekittygraykittyjackkitt9676 Dude, you pack alot of nastiness...but have no sign of proof. I have never seen a shred of evidence to what you say. back it up somehow or it's just baseless talk.
@@georgebarry8640 from what I have read, Robert was extremely jealous of the incredible work Coverdale & Page did together on that amazing, stellar album from start to finish. Plant went on ever radio and talk show, dissing this collab and sabotaged their concert bookings and sales. Plant soon had Page back in his hands where he wanted him.
Very unfortunate, as this pair was phenomenal.
Def buy the album, if you haven't.
Где есть Джимми Пейдж там всегда высший пилотаж.
Page playing Still Of The Night = 😯
Imponente
I wish this had time stamps
sabe o que eu não entendo é como um video como esse david e jimmy tem tão poucas curtidas enquanto outros ai tem milhões
2023 to infinity and beyond and faithfully returning to us here on planet earth
Props to Denny Carmassi for getting the intro Rock and Roll correct! Especially the 16th notes on the snare!
Denny is a godlike drummer
Great little richard intro
why wasn't there a follow up album or 12. the album was genius from start to finish.
the word says that Mr. R; Plant was not too pleased with this and asked Mr. Page to stop his project with Mr. Coverdale...
Really a shame too. This was far more Jimmy being Jimmy along with the passion and vitality that makes his playing so unique. And consider the fact going from this, to Page/Plant which was crap in a lot of ways. Makes this even more a missed opportunity.
Clearly you have a limited understanding of what drives musicians
A little harsh Felix. Why don't explain it all to us so it's understood by all?
I'm hoping we will be getting a special Expanded edition of this Album cause this year marks 25 years since it was released
Thanks for posting. I wonder if their are any official ‘Soundboards’ under lock and key? With an anniversary edition of ‘Coverdale Page’ on the horizon it would be cool to through one of these shows as a ‘bonus’.
DC and Page are working on an Anniversary Edition, coming out in 2023. This will Feature unreleased Songs as well as a mix of the Album from both of them :)
I don't know, but I had a double CD set of yoyogi, Japan, which I lost in a stolen cd changer. The audio on those were superb. Instead of oh my Jesus... They scream, oh yoyogi!... It's the best show I ever heard of this tour.
Coverdale sounds like Plant. jimmy is great as always.
Jimmy could tune down that perm a bit, but his playing is very good here.
His perm was even wilder, as in much bigger a couple years later in '95! Check out Page and Plant in Oakland '95. It's a killer of a concert though, but yeah the perm is a bit strange.
Coverdale!!!!!!!!!!?
deep snake zeppelin
spiralacrobat ledsnake
purple white led
He is respectful of Plant. And more mature.
Slide it in!!
!?
Wholly shit, this is a wonderful concert. Thanks for sharing. What a classic rock outfit. The mix could be a bit better. The drums are too fucking loud, especially the snare, a bit of dynamics would go a long way. Though the engineerrrr could have been a bit more active and actually moved the fucking leavers. That snare is bombastic. Too much gain on everything. I'd be happy to remix. I'm mean has anyone heard a louder snare? It makes it so hard for the vocalist, Coverdale has to keep pushing when he just doesn't need to. Page, well another amazing performance. It would have been great if they had done another album and of course a world tour for God sake. Here's hoping.
Didn't like Coverdale's voice on Kashmir too much, but damn - he killed it on In My Time of Dying!
Коллосаль!
The track listing mentions a cover of "The Wanton Song" in between "The Ocean" and "Feelin' Hot", but where is that supposed to be? As far as I can hear they go straight from one into the other.
Black Dog
Zep&Purple👍
waar is de blues?
En ese estadio fue grabado el Made in Japan de deep purple verdad?
Jimmy's #3 has always been my favorite LP. Though I wish he had not repainted over the funky purple-red color it was up until 80'. The dep red looks good but that weird, lipstick purple color it was, damn boss.
you sure it's not the lighting? Jimmy's had a WINE RED Lessie since the mid 70's. Oh well, I'll keep an eye out for the "purple-ish" Les Paul.
@@bishlap Check out TSRT, during parts of WLL Page is playing the 71' purple-ish LP. This was originally a gold top LP painted a candy-apple red which combined with the gold top produced this unusual, purple-ish color. This is my favorite of Page's guitars and has tone for days. I would take his 71' Norlan over his 59' LP#1 any day.
I swear that album was a direct warning about a girl I had shacked up with at the time, which I ignored but at the time it was something I noted. They were correct in the end.
lead turned down a bit for the rifts
THANKS MAN ! OR WOMAN...
Feeling Hot was Coverdale Page. Not Zeppelin.
Jimmy Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's strange. I remember reading that a Cloverdale page u.s tour was cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. Really? I don't recall ever hearing anything about it.I can't imagine lack of ticket sales.but then again page hooked up with plant shortly after.
Dan Evans I spoke to jimmy not long after the CP album came out & he said the project was beset with problems . They couldn’t get the other two
Guys who played on the album to tour due to contractual commitments. Plus everyone had their own manager which was never going to work.
It is very possible that once robert contacted Jimmy about the MTV show, he lost interest in CP. not sure about poor ticket sales as at the time
There was a lot of buzz in the states about Jimmy playing again.
The us tour was cancelled. I had tickets to the Tampa, Fl show and was told the whole tour was cancelled for no reason... maybe low tickets sales??
@@thekitowl this sounds right cause I can't imagine poor ticket sales to ever see Page perform.
*RIP BRETT TUGGLE*
I had to take,a dramamine to finish watching it because I was getting see sick.
Black Dog live, the best version ever.
why is Coverdale wearing gloves
