0:59 (nature documentary narrator) The 4700h takes the leader position among the group. Incredible. The 6700h knows it has more power than it's leader, but it cannot move as fast to another position due to it's weight. Marvelous.

FYI, I just picked up the 4700H. A feature that is not advertised or published in most reviews is that it actually processes 12 channels. You can use the subwoofer 2 pre-out to process a center top surround channel, aka "voice of God" for Auro-3D. Another quirk with the pre-outs is you can completely turn off the amps and have all channels go to an external amplifier or you have a choice to just have the front two left & right channels or the rear two left & right height channels to be processed by an external amp. That's it no other combinations or additional channels can be processed by an external amp. I am currently running a 7.3.5 channel system. I'm using an old Denon AVR to process the additional three channels and two splitters to go to the additional two subwoofers. Thanks for the videos, You do and excellent job, very detailed.

How do you have the old AVR connected to the 4700H to process the 3 channels?

    • @leodonnelly5427

@@jayc5695 The receiver has to be old enough to have multi-channel external inputs. My 4700H replaced a Yamaha receiver. My Yamaha wasn't old enough to have those inputs so I was only able to do two channel with the Yamaha. I went on craigslist and found an older Denon for $65 that had the external inputs that I needed. These multi-channel external inputs were used for SACD or DVD players that processed their own multi-channel sound and just needed an amplifier.

Good video, BUT please do a PROPER REVIEW and DIFFERENCES of each! The stuff you covered we can ALL get by looking at Denon's website. Like does AL32, Jitter reduction, and some other sound enhancement on 4700 WORTH IT? How's the sound quality in practice?! Which is the best bang for the buck? Things like that... Thanks!

Hi great video question please if you don’t mind. I just finished setting up my home theater and I’m first running a Sony A90J 65 inch OLED, my question is I’m using a Denon 3700h receiver with two Klipsch RP-800F’S front speakers and two R-41sa’s as the height speakers which are mounted to the wall on each side of the tv cause I didn’t like when you place them on top of the floor speakers and aim it at the ceiling to get the overhead affect. I also have two Klipsch RP-600m bookshelf speakers on stands as the rear and I’m using the tv as the center channel until I get dedicated center speaker, there is a 10 inch woofer as well. Now the entire setup uses hard wired connections and I just bought two Denon 150 home wireless speakers and I would like to use them as rear height speakers to make it a 7.1 but so far I’m not seeing a way in the Denon setup to add two wireless speakers it only gives options for connecting more wired speakers. So is it possible to do this? Thank you so much

You can turn off internal amplification on the 3700h, its on the website! Quote from denons website "With new Pre-Amplifier Mode, your Denon AV receiver works as a perfect AV pre-processor with the latest HDMI connectivity. Pre-Amplifier Mode provides a cleaner signal path and more tolerance in clipping level by disconnecting internal amplifiers. Modernize your AV separate system without breaking the bank".

Need some help on what to choose.
I have a denon avr-s950h and would like to upgrade to 9.2 and dont want to spend money just to spend it.
I was looking at the 3700 8k but don't want to go backwards in power to the speakers.
The avr-s950h I have is misleading as it claims 185 w per channel we know thats not true.
It also says 125w and 90w a channel on the site.
I guess I need to know what the 950 really does if its the 90w a channel im good with the 3700 as it claimed 105w per.

    • @KILLorBE
      @KILLorBE 3 роки тому +2

AFAIK it doesn't claim 185W per channel, on a sticker on the front of the receiver it says 7.2 and below that it says 185W, and on the box it says 7x 145W. Not sure where the 185W comes from, but the 7x 145W most likely means that all power amplifiers are capable of delivering 145W, but it doesn't claim that they can deliver that all at the same time, if you look at the specs it also says: 90W @ 8 ohm, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.08% 2ch Drive, and that is what you need to look for, how many channels are driven from 20Hz-20KHz, or you could look at the power consumption for a rough estimate. S950H = 460W/7 = ~65W, X5700H = 660W/9 = ~73W.
So it really doesn't matter that much, not to mention that it's VERY unlikely that all channels will put out the same signal at the same time at some stupid loud level.
Besides that you really don't need that much power, there's a bit more to it (Stability, hard or easy to drive speakers, efficiency of the speakers...).
Personally I would go for the X4700H because it has Auro 3D, is slightly more powerful and it has a flip down cover which conceals a few more buttons that may prove useful.

I mean, if i use only the hdmi1 from the Pana, it's simple. But if I want to stream video signal from its hdm1 and only audio from its hdmi2, how can i manage both at the same time on the Denon AVC-X3700H?

    8K does nothing?
Lets remember when we only had 1080, and the 4k's came out. Up-scaling was available and everything we put through it looked more crisp. There was a pop in the colors. The picture range was more clear, and side by side everyone preferred the 4k upscaled image. Now we think back to our 60 Hz monitors to the 144 Hz. We loved the images as the low latency and the fast monitor. Was there a night and day difference for most people? Most people couldn't tell, but the person who used it the most could.
Not saying we have to have it, but in a blink, 8K will be here, and those who have the large screens, the faster projectors will enjoy the extra head room this provides sooner than later. We do not buy cars that only go the speed limit only, just because there are times that we need to press the pedal down a bit more in situations. I bought my receiver in the "1080" days as a 4k ready, and 4k appeared with no regrets. Do I regret that purchase today? Nope. That receiver now has a few more years without being replaced. Great decision past self.

What do you mean with "only 40Gbit" - it is HDMI2.1, a specification that specifies 48Gbps - there is no content for 48Gbps, only ±40Gbps - 4k120 4:4:4 in 10bit HDR, 8k60 4:2:0 - 48Gbps max is meant for 12bit systems - content that is not being delivered as TV's have 10bit panels. The port can still handle the 48Gbps however.
