2-3 hours? What? Everytime I played this game with friends I've had to express instruct them and even then as we were rushing it took 5 HOURS. I LOVE THIS GAME THOUGH. I've played this with friends, I've played this solitaire, I can't get enough of it! The complexity is great :)
I wish I could play this game with less than 5 people! Or can we have less than 5 with some people controlling multiple territories? Or can it be solo?
Yes, it can be played with less than 5 people, but all factions must be controlled. I asked this question on BGG and the dev said it can be played solo -- it just might take longer overall. That's why the number of players goes from 1-5 players. I don't think this game is really semi-coop. Everybody really has to work together to beat the Hydra. Semi-coop is more like Dead of Winter or Legendary Encounters where players will join the villains. That doesn't happen here. The Hydra just kill your faction and if they win, the world loses. :)
I would have preferred if they just made an expansion to level 7 omega protocal! Although I guess its kinda cool how these games are within the same universe but play very differently. :/

I think LEVEL 7 is pretty distinctive. You know any other game line by that name? Apparently, the author took some well-known game concepts and re-imagined them with the Alien on earth theme. They form a storyline, beginning on a very personal level (you as the survivor in ESCAPE) and moving upwards on the power scale (elite special forces in OMEGA PROTOCOL and now, in this one, as a global leader). Personal taste aside, I think this is a pretty cool idea in and of itself. And that should be applauded.

Wow, this kind of reminds me of the old X-Com games - but of course, a cooperative version of it. Pretty cool.

The reason I think it is Semi Co Op is because not all players win if one player wins.
azraelswrd I think the designer put a bunch of stuff on the box to make as many people interested as possible. It should read 5 player co op 3+ hours.

Why didn't you just have the extra Factions as a neutral Faction that every player uses and doesn't count towards anyone's victory?

Sorry, but it is either semi-cooperative with 5 OR it is for the trashcan (and then there is Pandemic, not that I like it)
