@@PennyRDA my thoughts exactly. The last two rounds, every time Canizales put Onizuka on the ropes, Canizales would destroy him with uppercuts right through his guard.
We've just viewed world class sparring......right there. Man that Canizales was one of the finest pound for pounder's ever and it's only just registered in the last 6 hrs on YT. As I actively pursued any footage of him, after recalling the amazing dominance of the very gritty Billy Hardy . Canizales is a top 5, lb for lb of all time in my view, now I've had a recap of his career.
Orlando was one of the most cerebral fighters I have had the joy of watching in my lifetime. A laid back nice dude but in the ring he was a technical destroyer. Duran was too.
i like this comparison. their body types and styles are close. Duran seemed to be more attracted to blood and destruction of his opponent. Canizales seems to enjoy the game more like James toney idk...
Man, what are these guys secrets, they punch in the speed of light, i try everyday to looks like this, but My hands still heavy with the gloves, Damn, i would give a finger to Just have one talk with these two gods
Don't worry you'll get to it. Just relax (literally) when you punch, work on explosiveness in your abs, back, shoulders and legs and you'll be better in non time
Gotta practice fundamentals the basics everyday n too move like that is having ur whole body sync with ur punches so if u punch ur whole body should feel it
It helps that he’s a bantamweight and thus has the speed of one. If you’re bigger compare yourself to dudes around your weight class not the fast smaller guys because you won’t ever be fast like that.
1st round they are just feeling themselves, at the end tho canizales start to throw with a lil more spice, the 2nd round is nice stuff from both, but man they start to throw and land great hits.
I LOOOVE this. It's always great to see Canizales and a nice surprise to catch the Jesse Reid at work. I plan to take a trip to meet Jesse Reid and look forward to picking the brains one of the most under-rated trainers around. Thank you for sharing.
This is epic for fighters who want to learn HOW to spar. Quick. Not powerful. Work on footwork. Combinations. Taking shots. Giving shots. The best sparring sessions are when both men level up a lil.
Can't see as much on this footage, but he had some of the best defence and footwork ever.people think Loma bought some new shit buy this man was using same steps and angles thirty years ago.Any true student of the science knows canizales
Now this is sparring ! Idk what the fuck these youngster be doing but this is what I like to see . None of that weak shit , trying to “ read the fighter “ bullshit . First min and 30 sec should be enough to gradually know what your going into . Weak ass fighters are born these days . They don’t make em like them anymore
See how they spar? They don't throw as hard as they can but hard enough to feel it. They are actually working on different things. Awesome to watch.
It looks like they were throwing hard to be honest

his skill set was amazing! he was naturally left handed but his right was so educated. His footwork as well was wicked👍
Ya damn skippy he is fam.
Normal day back then at the old Westminster Gym. Many great champions and fighters sparred in that ring. 2 world champions sparring was the norm.
Carlos Polimino... Now, their building, 2020 / 2021, high rise apartments...

Estupendo boxeador era Orlando Canizales. auténtico maestro del boxeo mundial.

incredible work. fighting in the pocket for long periods with no clinching or holding at all. more enjoyable to watch this than some pro fights.
Both are great fighters !
Amazing spatting !

It be a blessing to spar with the LEGEND

Never seen this, great sparing primo lando, from your cousin cuete. That other champ was also a great boxer.
Onizuka had a career full of controversial wins. He wasnt that great
@BrotherJR76 No doubt, amazing footage. And right down the street from me. Wish I'd known about it!
Is that Joe Hipp hitting the pads in the background?

Un chingón Canizales 👍
Used to spar with him at HBA GYM in Houston he could crack for a little guy
Are they really canizelez and this japanese dude?
3:44 sorry...
poor katsuya gets wrecked
NikeSoccerTennis not at all he held his ground and made this competitive
With a loose headgear
Let's Go Texas.
Orlando
Orlando's offence was superb but his defence wasn't there
What the fuck? You tripping

Right on

geez that's some hard sparring
Not that hard. They are pulling on most of those punches
Nice
