- Part 1 of a Treadle Sewing Machine thread painting project.....for people who can't draw. ( I am afraid I inadvertently deleted part 2, I will try to do another soon )
What a great teaching video! Thank you.
Gracias por compartir esta idea y este grandioso turorial!,
Gracias Tim!
Not sure you’re going to answer since this was done about 1 year ago or more, but I have a few questions:
#1 - when do you decide to use shorter stitching vs longer stitching on these images?
#2 - Do you switch between embroidery thread or regular sewing thread? I don’t do free-hand machine embroidery. I do digitizing embroidering.
#3 - What is your stitch length/width doing this type of embroidery?
#4 - What is your needle size that you use? Do you use an embroiderer needle or regular needle? Sharp/Ballpoint?
This is a true art to do it this way....great job!
I love it Tim, wonder if I can do it so will give it a try, thank you for the demo!
Do you have a book on this
I find threading the machine side to side a really tricky Chris x
Awesome! I bury my threads on my longarm.
Whats the best fabric to use for printing on fabric. I keep trying but the paper and fabric keeps getting stuck in the printer.
How did you embroidery the eyes, like to see you doing
Hi great video thank you, could you just cover the feed dogs over any suggestions please? Chris xx
yes you could cover .....they did make covers for most machines, you would just need to find one....ebay is one source I have used for old machine parts. some people will tape an index card over the feed dogs and that can work (with a hole added for the needle)
Amazing! How do you choose the threads? I imagine there could be endless variations in color for something that you want to be as realistic as possible.
yes....I have just about every variation I could find of browns and tans and white, off white, gray.....it is hard to choose so I just got one of each :)
Beautiful and congratulations!
Are you treadling with that? or did you make it electric?
Hi Tim, have you done any more embroidery art project lately? Are you still working with the vintage sewing machine ? Have you explored any computerized sewing machine for the embroidery?
I like your art . I got a question what store do you print the image and on what material.
he said he ironed a piece of muslin to butcher paper and ran it through an ink jet printer.
Hi! Great embroidery. Please tell the www the name of the sewing machine uou used in this lesson, Thank you,
it is an antique 'White Rotary' treadle sewing machine.
Do you have all or most of your machines in working order and set up? If so you should show us a video.
I have about 8 or 9 in cabinets and set to use .....and the others are on shelves and I change them out depending on my mood or which machine works best for a give task ....all of them are in working order but several arent the best for quilting or embroidery
Tim, do you have any interfacing attached To stablize?
I dont for this....but it would help keep the distortion down......I have used iron on paper tear away and that works good for me
Thank you.
what did you do with the back ground of the dog?
I left the background alone....after all the stitching was done I cut it out and used fabric glue to attach the cut out to a black fabric background and then framed it
Brown
no presser foot?
where is part 2
I wish I knew what happened to it.....one day it was just gone and I didn't have a backup file to upload...sorry about that
Tim Latimer it's okay
