Just recently I realized most times i play without even enjoying it. Playing online FPS games like i do is more frustrating and stressful than actually enjoyment
FPS Games are especially egregious now a days. They purposely engineer matchmaking around, "engagement oriented matchmaking" or eomm to keep you hooked for longer. It isn't about matching you up against people with good connections or skill levels like it was in 2010, it's now about psychologically and biologically abusing your innate human reward systems to keep you online to play more and buy more game skins.
My life was falling apart so 5 months ago i quit gaming and i got a job and i am saving money to move to another country and achieve my dreams if u reading this i hope the best for u ❤
Welcome back Cam, October 11th this year is the day I completely quit gaming. I deleted my Steam and Gog + every other game I had on my computer, unsubscribed from every gaming youtube channel and changed my UA-cam feed to show more valuable stuff, quit watching streams, even gaming music, left many gaming Discord servers and soon all of them. I want to focus on myself, hobbies and purpose! So thank you for your work :)
Recently (around late October 2024) I decided to cease playing video games altogether. It stemmed from when I started playing FC 25 (I do love football as a whole) but it was around the time I started getting involved in real-world activities. I started going to a film studio every Monday and Wednesday and started playing actual football every Thursday morning, so that left me with a rather crucial decision: continue to game on FC 25 and other games or to leave it all behind for a chance to make a difference. I can safely say I’m glad I chose the latter. I took the chance to delete my PS4 account, put the PS4 in a cupboard and anything that could coerce me into playing video games again and focused all my energy and time into screenwriting, getting stuck in at every football session and getting involved with projects at my film studio. So to summarise, I can safely say that I’ve never looked back and am grateful that you’ve been an inspiration for me wanting to turn my life around. Many thanks Cam. Never stop whatever it is you’re doing.
Since I had negative experience with relationship I dont care too much about finding love and being that I am going through a devource but I am definitely doing well in terms of having a career and I am also in college
I actually don't enjoy games as much as I used to. I only bought Call Of Duty Cold War and Black Ops 6 because I had some leftover money in my PlayStation wallet. I don't do multiplayer, and the single player campaigns are only like 3-4 hours. I mostly play Train Sim World now. But each DLC route that comes out is $40.
Just enjoy your lives and stop this grind hustle bullshit. Not only there's nothing wrong with playing games, it's great for your brain. It makes you happy, it keeps your mind active, it's not physically dangerous. You people are being ridiculous. You can achieve goals in life AND play video games.
we are SO BACK!

Good you aren't enjoying them much anymore. Take that $40 and spend it on learning a new skill or reading books that will help you grow :)

You are wrong. Gaming stimulates our brain and there is an old saying- you cannot stimulate your brain for 24 hours
When you play video games other activities in your life becomes boring and your dopamine baseline is deteriorating in the brain
It is all a matter of balance, and some cannot self regulate.
I’ll pass!
FIRST!
Hey!
