Chad, I'm about to install the Leading edges on my J5A wing. I little different configuration than the J3 but I thought I'd brush up on some useful information. Thank you.

    That clamping procedure is clever.

Kevin Hornbuckle Thanks! I sell these clamps for a $100 a set of four. A lot better looking than these prototypes. 😁👍🏼 I use 2” wide yellow straps on the new straps. I’ve sold probably 10 sets already. Thanks for your comment!
      God bless!

    thank you for sharing.
I was under the impression that the J3 wing ribs and sheeting were all wooden.

velosapien - No sir. All J-3’s have aluminum ribs. Some Cubs do have aluminum spars and some wooden. My Cub was built in January, 18th 1946. I think it was February of 1946 was when they started using aluminum spars in the wings.

Amen brother but it shows the technology they have that was the simplest way in order to get a screw to hold something that didn't have screws I'm sure that they were able to use so that was the first way and the most quickest simplest way to go about getting it done if you think about it

Hey Chad how's it going bro? Remember you need 4,000 hours by the 20th of this month so you might want to put up some more videos unless you're good you may have your 4000 hours but you'll you lose your standing with making money if you don't have your 4000 hours being that you have your Sales & subscribers it may start over once you get your 4000 hours that's something I don't know about her having left into but that should be pretty easy to find out so for what it's worth you know make videos whatever it is you know this is how you wash a plane you know I'm saying this is how you Drees your wheels something you know anything and update on your Koi pond pump house you know the standing project you are doing on it so just throwing it out there for what it's worth alright God bless looking forward to hearing from you By4now,

What are those boxes you made and what do they do that's pretty cool and did you say cloth you mean like canvas you're covering those wings with is that what they used back in the day I don't know much about airplanes really I don't know nothing they fly and you've got to a tale with a controller on it and controllers on your wings and so you go up and down in it but any rate I know nothing about any of this can you tell LOL alright looks good broIt's going to fly smooth as glass when you're done.
With your sheet metal screws on your Leading Edge do you put Loctite on those do you weld that Leading Edge to the frame and I have no clue I'm just wondering that's all

Easy To tips and tricks Etc Etc -Boxes?? Thanks man!!! Now days you use a Poly fiber material. Back in the 30’s & 40’s they were covered in a Cotton material. I’ll have a video pretty soon of the covering process. 👍🏼

Easy To tips and tricks Etc Etc - No sir you don’t have to use loc lite on the screws. As long as you use the right size drill bit for the pilot hole you should be good. 👍🏼
