  • Fresh off the truck, this tool arrived this morning and we wasted no time getting it to the field. Our challenge was to bury corn stalks, but leave it level and smooth enough to plant into and we accomplished that part well. This tool is so versatile it is amazing to the variability it is capable of. No other tool can do as many things well as the VRT

How do you think this would do in the spring after we cut wheat silage and then plant corn into it? We have trouble sometimes getting the planter in the ground consistent after it’s cut for hay. It’s much easier to plant double crop soybeans behind wheat then it is to plant after haylage.

Yes in that scenario i would not get too deep or aggressive with it. I would just cut and chop the top 2” to create loose enough soil for a seed bed without drying out or pulling up all of those roots. 4” angle 2.5” deep, 13 mph then plant
