Interesting perspective. But this is interesting, your type of thinking is still spiritual, the Aghor type of Sadhanna . You’re right though, most people have only a vague idea anything about true Vedic teachings from thousands of years ago about true astrology and yoga, and instead such an impure variant has been developed, built in the basis of high attention grabbing topics like reptilian or kundalini cause they’re just more fascinating concepts. The world works with what sells, they’re abusing Kundalini, which is becoming very dangerous, so are some Tantric gurus. There are long term consequences for doing these processes in a manner for they are incredibly powerful…but god bless man, you’re right about reality being singular in existence, and that there is value in the systems if conducted effectively with the right community, right Guru and right principle. Excellent points to bring up!
I had an interesting experience with a kundalini bhakti cult in the UK, connected to a bengali guru, who had died and his first disciple "ran with it". They set up and ashram in Glastonbury. This was the nineties, btw. And anyhow, lots of things transpired and I watched it all playing out. It ended badly for the new guru plus followers, as there was an outbreak of crabs at the ashram, but fortunately it did not affect me as I had not partaken of the ghory chalice, but I did see my friend's previously rock-solid marriage break up over it, and also one of the locals in the village tried to set light to the new guru's bhajan kuti "hut"/ tent. He fled with some child molestation charges hanging over him. The other first disciple (*there were two)...disapproved of the secret practices being taught, so stole all the money from the other first disciple...and purchased a new premise in Vrndavana with it. The other first disciple ran away to join the Sai Baba group in India and as far as I know didn't return to the UK. On the plus side, the original guru -who had died unexpectedly in a sudden car accident/ impact with a lorry, actually did teach a genuine technique of kundlini yoga, and had been probably kind of a big deal. So at least everyone was left with some clear directions and pointers to use as a map, once all the madness had passed. No one stayed in contact with one another, everyone went their own way, but there was at the kernel of the madness a true nugget of incalculable worth. As the I ching (I think) described, the image is of a man plucking a diamond out of a dung heap.
Also…why do all gurus seem to fall prey to their own desires? Maybe it’s just the way of power and ego? Perhaps they became gurus from that same drive. Otherwise they would just be a monk content in his own simplicity.
Sounds like you started the journey and gave up long before ascending the mountain. There are also false summits that convince you that you have reach the peak.
Cult is an old medical term for "hidden"
14:10 - 14:39 well said. were you raised religious?
Not raised religious. But I am a 500 hr certified kundalini yoga teacher. ❤

This sounds a great documentary.
