In 2006, Dave Carpenter played his version of Jaco Pastorius “Donna lee” for us.
He passed away the year after.
It was probably the last time he talked about Jaco in Jaco Pastorius “The lost tapes documentary” - Розваги
You can hear his double bass language coming through just discovered this musician and love his playing
Very interesting! Cool use of chords on the six string fretless.
waiting for the first Jaco needed only 4 strings comment lol
I miss Dave. Too bad about the recording; he was the man to play Jaco-style harmonics on a six string, no doubt.
RIP
During this documentary at the 22 min mark I noticed what looked like a lump on Dave’s neck.. like thyroid cancer.
He's breathing like he's on a treadmill WTF?
mental exercise.
He dropped dead of a heart attack within a couple of years after filming this so was probably already suffering from a problem getting enough oxygen to his cells
I have a feeling the breathing sounding so loud is from the audio getting boosted so much so we can hear the bass clearly. It is unplugged after all
fair enough
He was breathing very heavily in this, was he sick or something?
I heard he died from a heart attack a few years after this video
Some things are pure sacrilege - like covering Jaco, Sting or Sade
Dave's the only guy that should over Jaco in all fairness
You are not jaco. Pale imitation
This is an interpretation not an imitation. Please respect the music and the musician 🤙🏻
