Love the pattern haul. The vogue patterns are so reminiscent of 80s, an era I grew up. Can’t wait to see when you make them. The dress pattern you don’t really like, is actually quite nice to me. The shape of it would look so good on you as you have a lovely figure. I always look at the line drawings too as at times the picture on the front doesn’t always show the details.
I have avoided paper patterns I usually do pdf but came across this channel and I’m about to purchase my first paper patterns. Wish me luck. You make it look easy I’m self taught and only been sewing a year and just for my daughter but I think it’s time to make myself some outfits.
Fox News brought me here. Outstanding story Mimi. Inspirational. You owned your talents and vision, saw a potential market and hammered away at it. Major props. Mom sewed a lot of our clothes in the 60s and 70s. I didn't appreciate it at the time but I'm blown away now. Much respect and wishes for your continued success.
Like your choices. I too look at pattern and see more than the front or the fabric. Sometimes the fabric they choose is so dark that you can't see the details. Always look for the drawings. Thanks can't wait to see what you do with the first one and the Vogue s.
Hello, Mimi. I liked your pattern Hall. I can't wait to see your new patterns. I wish you would have some that wasn't so hard to make. LOL I haven't been sewing very long.
As a survivor of 80’s pants without an 80’s figure, I’d be grateful if you shared your experiences. My main memory of trying to buy pants when I had 38-40 inch hips, but a 25 inch waist was being shown a new range of ‘plump girl’ sizes, all of which assumed I was overweight and had huge stomachs, which I didn’t have. It’s why I ended up wearing low cut men’s jeans and then leggings for years. Grump grump grump
Yeah!!! They had a sale also at hobby lobby on patterns 1.99 and I got some of your oldie but goodies okay I love the way you make it so easy to understand matter of fact if I m stuck on how to do something on another pattern you have a way to explain it to me in one of yours and in your Mimi voice to LOL
The Vogue patterns are reminiscent of the 80's power suit. No matter what I am buying, I try to catch the details , hate buyers remorse . I'm a plus size gal , I don't buy anything without trying it on or reading the flip side 😁
Kelly rippa recently wore a dress similar to the mccalls ending in 83. I love that pattern. Girl your nails are 2 cute, I would be worried doing the rope exercise tho 😂. ⚘
Hello, Mimi, if you read. Do you have any suggestions on using a different type of fabric than what the pattern maker recommends? For instance, i downloaded a pattern for a cardigan and they recommend making it out of a knitted/jersey fabric, but i was thinking to make it out of a woven one since im a beginner and i don't have a serger either (nor do i plan on buying one for now. maybe in a couple of years after i become more confident in my skills). Should i just go for it and be aware the look will be different, more like a coat or jacket than a cardigan, or just give up the idea for now and wait until i think i can work with knits?
V1690, do you think an apple shape could wear that top? Would it emphasis or cover up the appleness? The mesh sample looks great; would it need a stiff mesh to pull it off?
Mimi can you help me out!!! I've looked everywhere for help with my men's shirt pattern. I need to widen the front of the shirt for my hubbies belly, he is over 40 and now has a belly bump. The pattern fits well except the front does not come to the center below the chest. Please help if you can.
Show some of the things you have made.I love Butterick Vogue and McCalls patterns.have some models model your clothing. And show 👗 dresses. And do plus sizes.
With the Vogue 1688, the problem with look is that the jacket completely hides the pant and it doesn't do the pant justice. With a pant front with those extra details, shouldn't be covered up with a jacket of the type it's paired with.
Mimi I loves your voice you are so cute.loves your 💅 nails.I loves allvyour patterns.I wished you lived closed to me ill pay you to sew for me.I loves all those patterns Mimi.

Curious. Do you have to make a lot of adjustments on your patterns.

Good Picks😉
8034 would be cool if you lengthened the skirt, you'd get a faux edwardian thing going.
