Not really that much into the demo scene, but I do watch them from time to time. And this one must be one of the most impressive I've seen, with what looks like 3D models on the attribute "graphics" that this demo mostly consists of.
Look at most of the games for this console, only capable of single colored sprites, and then explain to me how anything like this is even possible in just 128k of memory. Great demo, for such a rudimentary system. Impressive.
Guys, back in 80's it was not possible by two major reasons: first, ZX hacks need time to be found (like in classical science); second, most of these modern demos are written using advantage of software for PC's. So, such works could only be the product of present time and technologies.
@@romastra disagree. this kind of code does not depend on the machine used for editing and assembling, this magic comes from crazy brains who dare to think things that even the creatirs of the speccy could never dream of.
Really impressive! Question, why am I seeing so many illegal colours? Is that where colour flickering has been emulated as a steady colour? Especially noticeable when you see pink or warm yellow colours that the Spectrum didn't have
Short answer - yes. Originally, the idea probably came about because modern big-screen projectors used at demoparties de-interlace the signal, which also happens to average the frames while removing flicker. Modern emulators can do it too, otherwise it would flicker like hell.
Gray is simply white without the bright attribute. Mixing colours is another trick which probably involves both screen memory areas on the ZX Spectrum with 128 kB.
I absolutely loved this music! In fact I think it’s the best I’ve heard from the 128k. But why is it so quiet 😭 Is it possible to get this song stand-alone?
In a nutshell, yes they prioably switched colours rapidly in order to mix them. The ZX Spectrums with 128 kB have 2 screen areas in memory IIRC. Switching quickly between them can produce mixed colours, I deem.
That's one of the best tech showcases I've seen to date. The coding knowledge which must go into these is incredible.
trippin out to this in 2022
Spectacular; the best I’ve seen from a Spectrum.
The best Spectrum demo ever!!!!!!!!!RESPECT!!!!!!!!!

Oh wow! This one deserves much more than just one thumbs up, but it is all that I can give.

a really solid, well designed demo with some great effects and a good soundtrack ❤
That's very impressive , amazes me how they get all that in 128k
Amazing demo considering the machine
Impresionante! 🤯 Cuesta creer que sea un Spectrum 😱
Amazing demo !!!.
Awesome, spectrum still rocks, I just refurbished one :)
The greatest praise I can give this is to question if this is even ruining on a real spectrum, it is simply breathtaking!
That's Fantastic
Very good job! I love it.

You can have multicolor sprites in games on the Spectrum: ua-cam.com/video/PwOdY96xRsU/v-deo.html
Cool!
brilliance hard work! thnx guys!
Outstanding! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just imagine if someone had produced this in 1984 ,they coukd of named their price .
We were ripped off in the eighties, we [ayed for software that didn't even came close to this kind of quality LOL
@@xXTheoLinuxXx because they hadn't worked out how to do it back then.

ШЕДЕВР! я думал Спектрум уже хоронить можно..
Потрясающая работа! Большое уважение от vivid^brainwave
freaking amazing demo
RIP Sir Clive. This is a wonderful tribute to the machines he helped create.
Suck on that Commodore 64 - Yeah love both machines but Spectrum has a special place in my heart
One amazing run.

I was wondering the same. Three shades of green? 😎
Purple, extra blues and greens and dark red. Amazing stuff that I can't get my head around
Gray on a Speccy? NO WAY 😱

Шикарно
holy shit! TOP!
Wow!
Самую красивую тётку само мало показали :(
И это не "финал релиз". В финальном последний кубик розовый.
по ссылке - розовый) но вот на ЖК экране демка выглядит кашей
Wow!!! Вау!!!
I guess the toastrack version does look a little different, I'm pretty sure I'm seeing orange in several places :)
Wow
Savage!
Суперова демка я у захваті.
... HOW?
where's colour clash?
Great stuff. How was this recording made?
Actually I don't remember if this was recorded when running the demo in Unreal or Fuse, but I'm quite sure it was from one of these emulators.
