As a Skull Merchant main it blows my mind how many people would rather 3 gen then have fun. People stopped DCing entirely against me when I swapped Corrupt for Lethal and rushed to spend the whole game in chase
The DC bots only makes DCing against a chess merchant even more gratifying. Like if all of us leave, the merchant doesn't even get to go next. They have to sit through a literal bot match as punishment.

I like skull merchant BC of her cosmetics and her power isnt the strongest but can be very strong when played correct, when I play skull merchant I am not toxic I am reasonable but when survivors tbag or gen rush me I just end up giving up and letting them go and I will forever and always let the last survivor go no matter what when I'm playing skull merchant

I feel like that game was the most technically difficult to pull off, but it had similar amount of hooks/deaths to most of the games shown. Every inch the killer moved needed responsive comms. The whole video was super cool!

It really pissed me off that this got nicknamed "chess merchant" instead of something like "sleep merchant" since chess makes it seem like this strategy requires any level of higher-order thinking
An easy fix would've been to just disable a drone for each survivor currently tracked, that way they HAVE to strategically place them and actually do chase otherwise they'll be left with no power
Everytime a survivor a drone, she's losing that disabled drone. Issue is that she defends 3 gens with 4 drones. She only puts 3 up (or 2 and physically defends the 3rd gen) and thus has extras to set up once the ones already up are removed. And then two more issues: - one same survivor cannot remove several drones, - the timer on the tracking is quite short, so after less than a minute she would get one back, which is why removing them was pointless. On top of that, she was Undetectable while in her drone's zone and outside of it, got Haste in several ways, had addons to make skill checks silent, etc., her whole kit was based around defending gens and sneaking on people doing gens. And the cherry on top was the fact that if you ignore drones (or miss the QTE), you're Exposed. For a full minute. And the timer resets the moment you step into another drone's zone. Her whole kit was braindead and ridiculous. Even after the changes, I'm still annoyed when I think about how killers like Myers or Ghostface had to be smart about their power and work hard to get survivors exposed while she didn't have anything to do to provoke hers except set up a 3 gens. The fact they thought it was okay to give her everything without the need to think or make any kinds of effort was the most triggering part of that killer. And it shows with her playerbase: so many of her mains are whining about stuff like "We should be able to see how many Lock On stacks survivors have !" when other killers with the same type of passive power mechanic (like Plague and Onryo) also don't have access to it until it's full, so why should SM have it ? But well, they were used to having everything handfed to them, so it makes sense they're asking for it.
Remember I was playing with a buddy once and we had a chess merchant on Dead Dawg, obviously DC'd after 25 mins of the match not going anywhere to learn it was a streamer, she happened to be streaming when i had looked her up and she was talking so much shit, saying we were entitled and mad that she didnt play the way we wanted her to play, (She was pretty bad at chase btw) and if memory serves, she just ended up slugging my buddy and the two randoms we were with lmaoo The fucked up part is I dont even know why she was so mad 😭 lmaoo
I think it would be funny playing deja vu against this, and just repeatedly only doing the deja gens until the 3 gen is spread over the entire map and is as unoptimal as possible. That way they get that “okay maybe this is salvageable” feeling for a gen or two, as their holding area gradually gets worse
Pro she loses vision over that area. Also a lot of skulls addons work inside wn active field so your denying that. Also she doenst become undetectable as well. Con. You disable a drone you get a trap so she can track you and you break a pallet fast vaulting.but that's literally it. As long as you dont get caught mid disarm not really any cons.

Fr, finally got to play her today and it felt pretty fun already. I like playing her as half a trap killer and chase where i set up drones at pallets and shack at the beginning until i see someone, i always save a drone or 2 for chase or undetectable witch by the way the undetectable is really underrated, it plays into getting downs alot. I was drawn into her from the start once i knew her ability, i love area denial playstyles, its why i main scorch in titanfall 2 😊
