- Fans lined up down the block at Rough Trade records in Brooklyn, New York for a chance to see a rare acoustic set by the satanic rock band Ghost, formerly Ghost B.C., and also meet vocalist Papa Emeritus III and a few nameless Ghouls as their new album, Meliora, finally hit store shelves.

The subject matter can be seen as "Dark" I suppose depending on your worldview. That being said, I think the theatrics of this group is the best in the industry.

Really? Really? They have a genuine freakin' sense of humor, too? Well, yeah...The lyrics are so over the top, I guess it's to be expected. A kazoo? Brilliantly ridiculous! I knew virtually nothing about this band 2 weeks ago...That being said, I haven't stopped playing Meliora for the last 5 days. Thank you, Ghost...This shit is fun again.
+Mark Dannells hell yeah man likewise. I dig the new direction of the band, I feel like they're just gonna start presenting papa as more and more human so they can eventually phase out certain aspects.

I hate the perception that people have for this band based on their image. Then they end up 'disappointed' over what they sound like. There is no standard to music, or music based on appearance. If that were the case, then the entire metal scene makes no sense. I thought that's what we were originally, a unified group of people who love metal in all its forms seeking to be among like-minded individuals, judgement free.
This band AND their sound is fantastic. It's different. That's what we want in metal, and that's what we are as a people, different.

Any dude that can rock a crowd by doing minimal things like a clap ect shows how much the crowd interacts with them kudos ,and what makes him a total legend in my eyes is how he can keep and maintain a straight face whilst pulling out a orange kazooo and play along to the tune without cracking up laughing is a absolute genius love it lol what a band :)

Just when all my favourite bands were starting to lose it these guys came along thankfully. There's nothing more annoying than copycat/rock radio bands and these guys are not that.

That's one of the reasons I liked them - beside the cool music. They took what Kiss did but without that self-indulgent, stuck-you-head-up-your-ass tone - Ghost are self-conscious and don't take themselves far too seriously, which makes them entertaining and far more engaging. Also the frontman is a good performer and singer (unfortunately, these days to sell your stuff you have to be far more than just a good musician - a concert is not only an audio experience but a visual one as well)

They are the most gentlemanly, elegant and courtly mannered show - a prince(!). I've always loved the story of the fall of Lucifer, how he was one of the highest of the angels. I love it from a philosophical and theological standpoint, endlessly fascinating. I would not worship him, but I do love him as a former child of God. It's all so sad, and I've always felt sympathy for him.
