  • After owning the bike for just over two months, I finally finished the bulk of the mods I wanted to do to it in preparation for a BDR trip at the end of the summer.

Good choice on the wiring. I tried running heated grips through the accessory port and the fuse would blow after about 60 min of riding with them on.
The AdvSpec mini fairing was nice - until i bent the crap out of the metal on a fall and just cant get them re-trued.
I love the apx plastic skid-plate - but the underside bolt seems to always been tough to get threaded well - but it has taken a beating - oh my.
Great tire choice for the bike - i like the Mt21 on the front and TDsport on the rear for DS riding and MotoZ Tractionator Enduro IT for the offroad parks.
If you are going to get rackless luggage - get some strap anchors and put at the subframe bolt location- so much easier to connect and disconnect.
Have fun - and ride the snot out of it. I am at 7300 miles on mine and just gets better.

I'm considering the AXP plate, though I still don't love the underside mounting mechanism (looks better than the AS). I like that it covers the linkage a lot. As for luggage, I've got the Mosko Moto rackless system in a box, waiting to be tried out. I'm kinda waiting to get my new exhaust delivered since I'll have to figure out the heat shielding. But one of the reasons I got the rear rack was to make that a little easier - the strap anchors are a really good idea though, I'll definitely try that!

does that AS rally tower block out any wind?

I can't say I noticed much of a difference but I think my thresholds might be a bit off since I'm used to riding that naked Yamaha down the highway for my commute. I mostly got the fairing for better cockpit rather than any real wind blocking capability.

Do you know how many miles per gallon are you getting in stock form ?

    • @chantdeguerre

I use liters / 100km as my fuel efficiency measure but Google's converter says about 58 mpg. I haven't measured since I did the exhaust and ECU though, so that's the stock numbers.

@@chantdeguerre thanks the reply, that's pretty good for an engine that was originally made for competition

I have a Vortex ECU and Yoshimura full system, and in MPG I get low-mid 50's on the freeway. It's better than I expected and better than my Africa Twin. It probably helps that the bike becomes rapidly more unpleasant as you exceed 70 (though the motor will certainly pull), whereas on the AT I can comfortably cruise at 85+.
