Will, That's a great video. I am interested in purchasing a Persian Setar. Please advise me of reputable sellers and specifications of yours. Thank you so much!
Hi Will. Just an observation: it seems that the music of Setar suits you more than that of the sitar. Ive heard all your UA-cam postings and think that you get overwhelmed by the hindustani musical idiom. You follow the dictates of the music a tad tentatively and your body is not in repose. On the other hand, the setar and her music fits you well. You look to be in control when using the komal note-led chromatic progression of Persian music. You look confident and you don't fidget. Look forward to more videos from you. They interest me because they allow one to witness the flowering of a musician. Like a musical autobiography in av. 🙂
@@jakemarrotta1352 he prolly just meant that the right hand strumming technique isn't the traditional form taught, likely didn't mean anything rude. That being said, traditional learning methods are meaningless to those that are self taught---its the individual expression that creates great music after all

What a beautiful sound, tx

Sounds similar to the Illyrian-Pelasgian (Albanian) instrument called the "Cifteli". Great execution!
Alexander brought this on his way back from Asia to Balkan
