On a first visit to Koh Chang it doesn't 'leap out and grab you'. But the more you visit the more it grows on you. I love the place. That hotel resort looks lovely.

Thing is nick ,a lot of people like some sort of nightlife within walking distance , But that place looked amazing and must be a prime spot for couples and honeymoon makers if only they knew it was there .Massive sign would help and of course people like you plugging it ,Brilliant Mate 👍Keep up the good work Dan 🙏Bless the lady and fingers crossed after this video people use her bar ❤️

Glad you went to Koh Chang Nick. It's my favourite island I been to in Thailand. Really nice beaches and friendly locals. Went back in March there it was so quiet and hardly any cars or tourists there. But a few late night bars open with good live bands on.

This evocked so many memories for me especially interviewing the Lovely lady Cat, i used to visit her bar in White Sands, What a wonderful lady, and her husband Englishman Derek. i did hear some time back he had been ill, i wonder how hes getting on now, Lovely kind fella... Went to koh Chang 30 years ago & have a Dutch friends who had shares in a resort there? The concrete GHs at the bottom of the hill spoilt it b ut not sure what its like now. Havent been back since. However the Blue Haven what a great spot
It would have changed a hell of a lot in 30 years. The first I went to KC was 20 years ago and I was on a cruise ship and we only stayed for about 6 hours.

Nice resort - the drone work and the clouds on the water in the distance are great it was a perfect shot. The resort is dead. I guess koh Chang is just too far for people right now. - Koh Larn last weekend was 100% booked.
Yeah it was packed on Koh Chang too last week. The whole place is quiet to be honest, but a lot more have re-opened their businesses since I was last here over a year ago.
Hi Nick hope you well.I would say most peopke who are just there for a short time really only know Shambala pool and bar as not many people go that side of the resort.Great place tho.Koh Chang is great,very different to Pattaya!
@@NDTViThailand - I'm still in the early stages of looking. I am actually thinking more along the lines of 2 or 3 bedrooms and 2 or 3 bathrooms. It definitely does not have to be fancy, and I am actually hoping to live in Chanthaburi, not on an island. I wouldn't mind having a pool, but it can be a rather small one. like about a 3rd of the size of the average pool at most resorts. My American friend and his Thai wife plan to move to Chanthaburi in a few years, and her cousin will build them a house at a reduced rate. If I like the job he does with their house, then I may have him build one for me also.

Stayed there for 2 nights early December last year. Fantastic place. Had the whole place to our self, not many people about. Even set at the same table you had the cocktail on. 😆 Highly recommended.
It takes a real traveler to reach that resort. They may want to consider arranging travel from the main airport. Anyway, it looks like a great getaway for you.
I rented a house there through AirBnB.on arrival we were hit with a mass of you can't do this you can't do that talk.Really killed the vibe.4 nights there we were charged electric on top1900 baht.It seems like a lot of separate businesses operate there.Its not really a resort ...you pay to use the gym ...You need to buy a drink to play pool.They need to look at the way its charged...When you pay 5000 a night you don't expect to be nickel and dimed when you arrive.
So i think the problem is not with the resort but the Airbnb owner. I am pretty sure if you book direct your getting everything. If individuals own things and put it on AirBNB they are not giving you a good package. Maybe Nick can confirm what is included and you can review the air-bnb and tell people to book directly with the resort.

Once you go through Airbnb it is nothing to do with the management of the resort and down to the owner of the property. Me personally if I owned one of these properties and wanted to rent it out I'd do it through the management of Blue Haven Bay at least there is always someone there on site.
Just had 6 nights on koh chang with the Wife & Daughter, really enjoyed it was my second time to visit the island it was quiet but that was better for us to be honest not so good for the islanders though, we stayed at the 15 palms Hotel in White sands beach great place 10/10 food cracking full English breakfast 💯
I went to view villa in blue haven for sale a couple of weeks ago. Very tempted to buy there (off plan) Cool video Nick. Good to meet you in Hedonism the other night btw. 🫱🏼🫲🏾

Did you stay in the hotel or one of the houses? I agree it's a must stay if you want peace and tranquility.

No doubt it is quiet during the week but it's looking much better than a year ago.

Depends what type obviously. For example you can get A4 bed 4 bath pool villa from 7 to 10 million baht.

Many of the properties are owned privately with the owners not being there most of the time so this resort will always be pretty quiet and peaceful.

15 Palms is a great spot I've stated there before. Great food there too some of the best on the island.
