The only movie I never get tired of watching it. It has taught me move about a lot of things. Donnie is the in my opinion the way how to live life to its fullest. Humble and does not take himself as a bad ass fighter. That is why I love this movie.

Yes ! One night many, many years ago (10+) i had a dream where i did Tai Chi together with an old chinese master in a "crouching tiger, hidden dragon" setting (epic nature). And yes, I know my dream was one big cliché... LOL. But that was what my dream was about. And when I woke up, i was crying.
When I saw Ip Man and heard the part with only the chinese violin(?) for the first time, it resonnated bigtime with the feeling i had from that dream! I was suddenly filled with an intense feeling of both melancholy and happiness at the same time. Then it is hard not to cry.
I don't need to find real love in my life if I can find music that fill me up and make me cry.
Every moment in his life was great,like his style
People known Bruce lee more than his teacher the great IP Man. But the great Donnie yen made IP Man immortal.

Apman is a martial arts master, fast and well-behaved person. . . I am always satisfied with me. . . Avramo is a firm and very strong person.
Trained Wing Chun / Ving Chun myself and then others for several years and it is the best martial arts imo. Fast, direct, no fancy moves and brutaly efficient in a fight. But that's also the problem, if you train it hardstyle, so every move becomes part of your muscle memory, you are in danger becoming the accused instead of the victim. Most moves aim directly towards vulnerable points of the opponent (head in general, eyes, ears, throat, balls). Use it in a simple brawl and you might find yourself in front of a court.
I love the IP - Man movies, but many of the sequences are more show than actual Wing Chun and i am fine with that, they look great and Donnie Yen is awesome. But actual Wing Chun is used to utterly destroy your opponent in a life or death fight / in a war, no fancy spin kicks in it.
At the minute I’m learning bjj and will be doing that for the next 10 years at least I have wanted to learn wing chun though
