I don't care what anybody says, those PGA tour wins do matter and Scottie had a better season. And it's really obvious. If given the chance to play one year on the PGA tour and by the end I will either have Scottie or Xander's season, I'm taking Scottie's and it's a very easy decision. Also, I disagree that we're gonna forget Scottie's season and only remember Xanders. I think there's a good chance we look back at this season like "man, remember that Scottie 2024 season where he just kept winning?" and "oh yeah man that's right, Xander did win 2 majors that year that's wild". I think everybody is tricking themselves into thinking Xander's season is even comparable
Disclaimer: I haven't watched the full pod yet. But I feel like I'm taking crazy pills that this is an argument at all lol. I'm also surprised at how winning an Olympic Gold Medal seems to hold such little weight in this argument. Without the Gold Medal, I could see the argument, but when you consider another Masters win, plus all the other events, PLUS an Olympic Gold Medal, Fedex Cup Champ, etc. it's a no-brainer in my head.
@@MMStringbean i can understand why there’s not a lot of weight behind the olympics right now, but at the same time he did win it and is it not a big deal?
I know you really don’t look at the President Cup as much at all, but I feel part of that is because the international team does not win. I think it would be embarrassing for Jim if he was the USA Captain that lost. Jim is picking the guys he thinks are best to actually win the Presidents Cup and isn’t looking at making this the PGA Tour University for hopeful Ryder Cup picks in the future.
You’d rather not win the Arnold Palmer, Masters, Memorial, Players, the Fed Ex cup and the Tour Championship, and a GOLD MEDAL? All in one year? Remember Xander only won twice, albeit majors, with 15 top 10s! Scottie had 8 wins, including the Olympics, and 16 top 10s! Oh and the 66 Million in prize money! That’s legendary! Only 5 people have ever won 7 times on the PGA tour in a single season before Scottie this year, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Johnny Miler, and Vijay Sighn! And now Scottie!
Every golfer strives to be more consistent. More consistent ball striking, more consistent putting, chipping, scoring etc. Between Scottie and Xander who won more consistently? Scottie
Scottie had the best season, but everyone would take Xander season because we only care about Majors. PGA tour wins mean nothing specially when a lot of them went to LIC
Who cares if JT made the Tour Championship, and who cares what the SG says. 5 top 10's in almost 20 starts, half of which are siggy no cut/limited field events. Keep him home.
If we are saying that Scottie has had the better 2024, then we are effectively saying that 1 one major and some PGA tour wins is greater than 2 majors.
I wonder if Tiger would offer Scottie a popsicle, or if Tiger would just grab one out of the freezer and start eating it without offering him one?
Lest we forget that Scottie Scheffler was arrested the Friday morning of the second major of the year.
Soly did say 2000, for the record.
Listen, mea culpa there.
Gonna need a Mea Culpa on Soly’s pronunciation of Reese’s. It’s “Reese-IS” not “Reese-EASE”. Thank you, D. Hoselhoff.

are we not considering the players championship a full field event?

I would rather have Xander’s season but I think Scottie should be POY.

If Scottie hadn't won the gold and Tour Championship I'd have gone Xander with two majors.

The guy with 2 Majors

Agreed… also the fact that Zach picked up in Rome after shooting in the 80s multiples times leading up to it hurts any goodwill left for JT

You’re forgetting an Olympic
Gold medal.
"Some PGA Tour wins" isn't exactly accurate... he won every "big" event, including The Players
The man made 60 mill… got arrested mid major…. Had one of the best strokes gained years ever… 2 majors is sick but Scottie had an all time year
