2010: I play a face down defence monster and 2 face downs.
2019: I play this spell which let's me special summon my whole deck and tribute 2 to summon the almighty Ugandan knuckles who's ability let's me bring them back and shuffle my deck for no reason

As a magic player watching this, this doesn’t look fun. The guy who went first played so many cards and it just doesn’t feel right.

@@Gotallofthem1 far more interaction. I quit acting yu-gi-oh when it started getting to this point. The only downside to magic IMO is the infinite combos that can exist, but not as common as the yu-gi-oh videos I've watched. And there's more ways to respond with counters, board wipes etc. Not to mention there are multiple formats and games withing MTG so you'd likely find something you really enjoy. Personally I love commander.
I miss when dueling made sense and was fun. Now one turn takes 30 min and you need a rule book to even follow what’s going on

I downloaded the game for xbox an I was having so much fun reviving my childhood battles.... for about 5 minutes, then it began with link summoning and XYZ.... boring asf.
Wow modern yugioh looks ridiculous. I played from the beginning and quit around the time Legacy of Darkness came out in 2003. I had pretty much every card (not including weird tournament pack exclusives) up to that point. I have such fond memories of playing, going to tournaments, trading, hunting down 1st editions. I've often thought about getting back into over the years but this looks like an entirely different game.
Modern yugioh is honestly garbage. I’d recommend grabbing some friends and playing with older decks because yugioh right now is just completely brainless. If you have the right cards you can literally play without knowing what you’re really doing

I sometimes play on dueling nexus (a yugioh website) I just set a monster and a few spell traps and then I have to go to do something else until my opponent finishes his 5 minute combo.

What the f*** is going on
They summon that many cards per turn now because yugioh is now about them making as much money as they can by selling more cards. If they make the cards so their effects allow you to summon (or run through) 10-20 cards in your first turn, each card cost money. Hence, they make a lot more money now due to the card effects they choose to produce, as opposed to back in the day when there were only a few cards played per turn and yugioh was a completely different game. YUGIOH NOW IS A DISGRACE TO THE GAME OF DUEL MONSTERS DUE TO THE CARDS THEY NOW PRODUCE FOR PLAY. It went from a hard fought game of strategy to win, to now a six card hand with 30 card plays in the first turn to win without having to ever play a real match. Even if there is a match its now just a bunch of back and forth 5-15 minutes per turn per player to run through hundreds of dollars of cards each turn. YUGIOH GAMES START LIKE THIS NOWA DAYS, EACH DOLLAR AMOUNT REPRESENTS EACH CARD PLAYED ON ONE PLAYERS FIRST TURN OF THE DUEL AS FOLLOWS: 5$- 10$-5$-5$-5$5-$-5$-5$-10$-20$-3$-3$-$4-$-4$10$10$10$10$-15$-20$-25$-5-$-5$3$-3-$5-$5-5$ THEY ARE NOT PLAYING YUGIOH ANYMORE, THEY ARE PLAYING "MONEY, GEE, OH" I am a former top level yugioh upper deck tournament champion who has won many advanced upper deck tournaments and was the best player in my state (during my yugioh career before retirement) and beaten the number 1 players from other states in official tournaments as well. I have been playing yugioh for a solid decade and I know a lot about the game. I WAS THINKING ABOUT PLAYING YUGIOH COMPETITIVELY AGAIN, BUT AFTER WATCHING THESE VIDEOS ON HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED NOW, I HAVE NO INTEREST IN YUGIOH. SUMMONING 10-20 CARDS IN ONE TURN AND LAYING OUT CARDS WITH THREE DIFFERENT DECKS IS NOT YUGIOH. "THEY NEED TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE GAME, AS IT HAS BEEN DILUTED DOWN TO A MONEY TRAIL OF CARDS"
Live Chess Games dude playing one monster in attack position and giving it an equip spell for more attack is not being strategic it’s called playing a children’s card game, this video is showing how people play pro.... if you don’t like playing advanced moves then play something like LEGO and go get a life.....

I completely got your point, synchro, xyz, pendulum, and link cards are getting more than Legendary 3 Illusionary God Cards😌 real tournaments should ban excessive use of card effects like getting bagillion cards in one turn😌 but some synchro, xyz, pendulum, and links are interesting ya'know😉 you can just avoid exagerated combo cards that requires tons of dollar for every card combo😉 back then it takes 2-3 trap and spell cards and 1 effect monster to perfect Sliffers ability, now with those "essay-long" descriptions, you can have everything in 1😌🤦♂

From what i understand, links are relatively easy to summon, and here i can see that its true , because that guy play mos of his extra deck in the first turn, developing his table like crazy.
I dont really know, but from what i can see, in your first turn you can play most of your deck and practically win due to the absolute advantage you developed. So if you dont go first or dont have an answer, you have already lost.
If you are lucky you can get to turn 2 xD

The thing is that as long as you run hand traps like ash blossom or called by the grave and stuff like that, you can stop your opponents combo if you do it in the right spot, and then it gets way more interactive, especially since you can’t attack turn one
My biggest combo is summoning blue eyes and red eyes in the same turn while it was my opponents turn, bc of my trap card... And then i see this guy doing all of that

He has a deck primarily made of effect monsters, so he's playing off each effect he lays down which gives him the options to make those certain moves, I hated playing against guys with an effect deck because they take forever to do what they are going to do

Basically with Link summon and XYZ, you can summon like multiple card at once. Yugioh is not the same. I miss the days of the OG Yugioh to 5DS. I felt like the game wasn't the same after 5Ds

Thunder dragons has won multiple regionals and tournaments. If you play a deck like E-Hero or Rescue Ace, you'll find more fun.
Its all about casual vs competitive.

I know the first player is searching but shouldn’t he have to shuffle his deck after every search…? If he gets negated, his deck is un-shuffled and he has the opportunity to memorize what he will draw next. He’s cheating. That’s illegal.
To speed up the process they shuffle only when the searching is done.
If he has to draw a card or pass turn he allows the opponent to shuffle/cut the deck. If you will be going back into the deck there is just no need to shuffle it.
Yugioh players usually do this to speed up the process if there will be a lot of searching done.
That being said yes you're right after using danger! monsters he absolutely should have let his opponent cut his deck
@@idkdontask7142 but what if your opponent were to activate something that forces you to draw a card. Are you NOW going to shuffle and then draw a card? What if they use a card effect to banish from the top of your deck? There’s so many factor where it’s better for the random factor to shuffle after every search even if it costs time. But I understand why they try to save time when the clock is ticking. But still
@@ThatsSoGiorgio so if they activate an effect that draws or mills a card from top then they shuffle the deck according to the rules. This is what usually happens at tournaments.
However in this video the thunder dragon opponent doesnt let his opponent cut the deck before activating danger! Tsuchinoko which allows u to draw 1.
But to answer your question yes every time when something will happen to random card from top of the deck like its drawn or milled or banished, your opponent has to cut or shuffle the deck.

Dude when my uncle bought me a box of yu gi oh cards I wasnt really appreciative for it but then I really realized what they did for me and then I started crying and swore that I would actually play with them and their new cards like these so there not your old I play a good card you play a bad card type of stuff and I already used to know the basics of it so I'm not a total noob but I'm not advanced.I already knew that some duels are kind of like this but for the most part I thought people exaggerated a lot but the guy on the rights main phase was just him/her was just using affects and then pulling more cards,special summon,normal summon,effect,so on and so on.so this game is just really hard to play as what I see here.well this took a long time to type so I hope you guys enjoyed my experience.
I remember monster cards having 1 sentence description. Trap and Spells 2-3. Effect cards mostly 3🤦♂
Just to confirm you can summon three monsters at once if they’re 4 or lower
You can, however, only by an effect that allows you to special summon three monsters at once if they are level four or lower. By normal summoning, you can only summon one level four or lower monster. There are cards that can allow you to normal summon again in a row, such as the spell card double summon

This is why I can't get into tournament level yugioh, and Magic to a lesser extend. I have no idea how players simply know all the effects of the opponent's cards.
Like I literally spent months memorizing my Six Samurai deck to make it decent, and that's one of the easiest archtypes to master.
I would not be able to keep up with a professional opponent at all lol
