Just how the UCS AT-AT came with a speeder that was identical to the one in the Snowtrooper battle pack, this should have come with an identical skiff to the one in the Sarlacc pit set
"good"? the minifigs suck. (pardon my french). No good guys and no good bounty hunters. A bunch of grade D characters. I don't want the musicians or the little bug!!!!!! I want strong heroes who can shoot and blast the enemy!!!!!
@@herohour6496That's why this pairs with the Skiff. This is a villain ship, it should have villains. Sometimes it's nice to have a set focused on the enemy for once instead of another massive hero vehicle.
This feels more like a really expensive play set then a USC display piece. Don't get me wrong, the set looks amazing and calling it a play set shouldn't take away from how great it is. But I feel like with all the play features and playability, and notable design problems, It feels like it should be a part of a massive play battle instead of sitting on someone's shelf for eternity.
I translated the Aurebesh stickers. The one in the jail says: "Han was here". The one in the cockpit says: "scanning" (obvious). The two in the kitchen say from up to down: "womprat stew" and "bantha roast". And ow, not unimportant: you misplaced your plate's rack in the kitchen. You should turn it 180°. There is a hole in the back wall, in which the tile you now see in the front perfectly fits in.
That "box" on the deck isnt a box. It is the doorway to the lowerdeck. It has access to the ladder underneath it. It is just what you sea on classic ships or even yachts.
For 500$ this is bordering a skip. Showing off a whole different set in the design pictures but not including at least one desert skiff? Not having the clearly superior C3PO that's still in production, while spending the time, effort and cost to design a new Leia that's inferior? Bib Fortuna with the wrong head mold? No leg printing on Jabba's goons? And all of that for a UCS set that feels more like a playset?
Reusing fat bib Fortuna and no dual mold C3PO in this set might be the laziest LEGO minifigures since mustafar anakin and obi wan in the Summer 2020 sets. Except here it’s in a $500 UCS set. Disgraceful. Only the best is good enough
Not that its a problem that it isnt printed, but it would be so cool to have R2 have a printed opening with Luke's saber hilt ready for launch on his dome piece.
With the 5 euro prime monthly discount and the desert skiff set on sale for 65 I pulled the trigger on the skiff finally. Now just waiting patiently for the barge to go on a good sale.
Just combining both sets with weequay guards all together would have justified 500 dollars, even if they didn't have leg printing for all of the figures. Would have been 9/10 if that were the case. 10/10 if leg printing was featured. Also, did you happen to get the Luke's green lightsaber GWP with your purchase of this set?
In terms of the figures themselves, aside from the imperfections of leg prints (or lack thereof) and an inaccurate Bib, I was really hoping we would get some more odd and specially molded background characters. Like how does the playset from over a decade ago have a better lineup with one very incredible figure (Ree-Yees). For a UCS yet, the figs are of course aren't everything, but for that $500 price tag, we should get a little more ya know
Currently wait for this to get delivered i think it is overpriced but i believe since i got the lightsaber build its worth it getting since how much its going for now
It’s a great set. My I guess hot take is that 90% of the people complaining about it just can’t afford it anyway and that FOMO kicks it. Yea like no shit it’s expensive, it’s a Star Wars UCS set and people buy it. It’s on back order. Would be business malpractice to charge less.
I’m really not trying to e rude but what are you talking about with the side panels not being detailed? They have plenty texture and they also have plenty of different shades and shapes.
Really expensive, looks great but worth about €300/350. Love the new Leia except maybe for the swimming trunks. A rather bland, but fairly detailed interior. C3PO should be the highest quality one available, disappointed by the low quality of the barge figurines (Vizam, Kithaaba, Woof) and the relatively small number of figurines overall. They passed on the opportunity to bring Star Wars lovers a lot of great new mini-figures. Space being an issue, I just purchased the older playset for 229€ and I feel quite happy and a bit relieved by my decision. I already have the Rancor set and Jabba's palace so I can use some of the figures from there. Going to buy the new desert skiff on sale. It looks great! 👌
I don't understand the bags.. some (what I've noticed, specially LAN people) have the sail barge with white bags already.. and others still the plastic bags.. whats the point when you create both? XD
Dude, all Lego Star Wars fans do is cry. Just wait for a sale if you don't think it's worth $500. I literally just got this, the Desert Skiff and the UCS Tie Interceptor for $640 with 11% cash back. If you're patient, you can find some good deals.
@@fivelonelyclones Hey that's solid man. Honestly you live the dream lifestyle, gettin huge and talking about star wars lego haha. I rate it. God bless ya too man.
Everyone keeps saying the pit and skiff should’ve been included. Was the hoth bunker and snow speeder included in the AT-AT? Where there any other ships, sets or details included with the venator? I think it’s a far fetched outlandish argument. Yes, it’s expensive but this is the world we live in.
Those sets are massive and feel like they’re worth their price, I can assure you the price difference between this set and the venator feels like it’s way more than just $150. Also the cantina has 19 figures for $400
Im typically in the mindset that most Legos aren't overpriced, but this feels like a $400 set. I feel like they wanted to make a cheaper set, but couldn't due to the price being the first thing decided on in production.
There are so many things wrong with saying that this set is equal to the 2006 one. First of all accounting for inflation the 2006 set was $120 with 716 pieces and 8 Minifigures. This newer one has nearly 4000 pieces with 11 pieces for $500. This is my personal opinion, but the older one looks really tiny and blocky. Also those brown bricks would mean it would crack within a month.
Can you pls rework ur scoring system? xD I mean I don't go out and buy something just bcs of the rating but u give all the sets a way to high score. 7 is for me and most media outlets a good score and means something is worth purchasing and anything higher is definitely worth it. With all ur fair criticism u still give it a 7?? This is like a 5
He said in the video that most of the criticism isn't that important, and is mainly small complaints. He still said it was a great set even with the flaws, but it missed it's potential for being truly legendary.
@@GrantGraff I mean fair I only watched the conclusion segment but still. He stated it's no even close to being worth it at that price with multiple complaints which shouldn't be a 7 and this rating system has been way to generous in multiple other reviews as well. It’s absolutely incredible in person, pictures don’t do it justice. What a build!
It really should have included the skiff and sarrlac pit to justify that insane price!

I saw this set in the lego store and it is substantially more than 150 dollars smaller than the venator.
this also has a very good interior, if the venator had a full interior it would probably be 100-200 more dollars
The minifigures are just inexcusable. And don't be fooled, people would have bought this set purely for the figures if they had been done properly.
Just combining both sets with weequay guards all together would have justified 500 dollars, even if they didn't have leg printing for all of the figures. Would have been 9/10 if that were the case. 10/10 if leg printing was featured.
