    Such a cool video, I wanted it to last longer. It’s true that studying language while having fun is the best. My favorite language learning tools are Japanese video games!

      Cool. I think that's similar to what is called a "misplaced modifier" in English grammar. 🤓 What is the error attributable to called in Japanese?

    • @kensanokaeri
      @kensanokaeri  2 роки тому +1

      misplaced modifier?? error attributable??😯 I'm so sorry, there are lots of words that I am not so sure about the meanings😅😅😅
      I meant to do " 訂正 (ていせい)" in the comment.
      字幕(じまく subtitles)を訂正しました😉

      @@kensanokaeri It seems that the error you made in Japanese is what's called a "misplaced modifier". A modifier is a small word or phrase that gives information about another word in the same sentence. (In your sentence, I think TAMA NI is the misplaced modifier.) If the modifier is not in the correct part of a sentence, it is called a "misplaced modifier". In English, misplaced modifiers can result in sentences with rather funny meanings. For example, Incorrect: She wore a bicycle helmet on her head that was too large. Correct: She wore a bicycle helmet that was too large on her head. (Obviously the first sentence has a misplaced modifier because it sounds like the girl's head, instead of the helmet, is too large!) 😂 ケンさんの英語の勉強に挑戦し励まし、私たちの日本語の勉強を手伝ってくれたことに感謝するために、私は時々高度な言葉を使います。

      "error attributable" = what the error can be attributed to; what it can be placed on or "blamed on"; what explains or points to the error

      I see! Thank you so much for this!
      .
      The Japanese language takes particles, that means the order in the sentences is quite flexible as you probably know, but places are important for English grammar.
      I mean it's interesting that they have quite different systems.
      .
      Aha, that makes sense! (misplaced modifier)

    When to 家の発音 (うち/いえ)? When I was young, I learnt うち, but recent years many people pronounced いえ?

    • @kensanokaeri
      @kensanokaeri  2 роки тому +3

      When we say "my house", we can say either いえ or うち , but when we say "someone's house" we should say いえ.
      (うち has a nuance of home, family, and my side.)
      However, even Japanese people sometimes mix them up😅 So you might hear both うち and いえ in both situation.

    I have a request, may I?
    Me too, like you, I'm studying English and Japanese watching not only your channels, but also channels that talk about my interests.
    I love both cooking and knives, and in Japan You have wonderful kitchen knives. Could you make a video in a knife shop, showing the different types of knives you have in Japan? Thanks a lot.
    Best regards from Toscana, Italy.
