Slum Stories: Kenya - Poisoned alcohol

A lot of alcohol is consumed in the slums of Nairobi, in Kenya. More and more often this alcohol is poisoned. Brewers frequently add foreign substances to make the drink stronger. for example methanol, a chemical substance which is used in poisonous cleaning alcohol. When consumed, it can cause loss of sight and even death.

Why do we Africans continue to do this to ourselves knowing we have less help unlike other countries.
Can we continue to blame our leaders when we ourselves continue to engage in stupid activities and not holding ourselves responsible 🤔🙄
