Bruce defended this decision on an earlier episode, but now he's doing this revisionism to please fat mark Conrad and all the other marks in the IWC who bitch about Beefcake despite the fact that they weren't even around the or watching when he was active. Beefcake was over in 89, SummerSlam 89 sold out and was hugely profitable so it was a wise decision. Putting in Hansen or someone who the audience at the time had no familiarity with is monumentally stupid and would not have made as much money. Only IWC shut in marks get a chubby thinking about things like that.
