Since I am a Ford guy, my favorite is the green Ford truck. But hat's off to all the builders and their rigs, looks like they put alot of time and effort into getting their stuff ready. Glad to see Fred and Dave in there, miss DED, and glad to see Ian made it back. Thanks to everyone, like I mentioned, the video means alot to those of us that can never make this trip.
A bunch of buddies and I all loaded up and took our Gambler 500 cars down to Petros and went to Brushy Mountain back last year. It was a blast! Also not near as much of a trip for us, we just live about an hour away.
Lol after you been to brushy a couple times it’s not creepy anymore 😅 I’ve been going up there since it was opened I’m only hour an half away so i go to concerts up there regularly it’s a cool place and Pete and his wife have been great people letting us camp
Funny, I just did a fall no camping overlanding trip and video on my channel jeepNdirt and caught hurricane creek in FULL FALL colors and it was great. I think that's a very under rated trail because it's so much fun a different times of the year. Another funny thing is that those tree's are still laying in that exact same location. I was wondering "who in the heck put those there, it would have been fun to ride that section of the trail off camber. lol" Again, another great one guys.
Brushy is now a part of an event called Barkley Marathons. If you haven't seen it, Barkley Marathons : The race that eats is young, is a cool documentary to check out...even if you're not a runner. The race passes through the prison and is based on a famous escape (unsuccessful).
I was excited to see that, I did the Barkley Fall Classic in 2019 and this year 2022. It’s brutal, running up and (down first time this year) Rat Jaw to the prison and then through Meth Lab Hill and TS
These vids make me want to keep my 00 chevy s10 blazer. It's a clean silver 2 door zr2, that's the only reason I have it still.. But been planning on fixing the fuel pump soon and selling it. Alot of money in suspension work and wheels to make it into one of these rigs. Dang it lol
That looks just like the pen they used for the walking dead in one of the seasons. That’s the last season I watched because it got monotonous and felt like it was the same thing with different people every season
Not doing Nate dirty, he brought the wrong vehicle for the trip. The two IFS Toyotas winched and stacked more rocks than the other 20 vehicles combined.
Seeing Fred and Dave on here makes me miss DED even more :(
we make enough comments they might bring them back !
we want the dirt heads
Did DED get canceled from motortrend ...was wondering why there episode's were on UA-cam but not motortrend
@@willkelley7747 yes not renewed for next season
More DED please
Great to see the DED crew on the trail. This UA is friggin awesomeness
I've always been a jeep guy but that van is next level. It's like an off-road capable mini RV
Dang, wheels/tire combos on these vehicles are worth more than my whole rig. Looks like a lot of fun!! Keep it up, guys!

"The Drone" .... this is the most Fred answer ever! Hahahahaha
truly miss dirt every day

I took Hurricane Creek in a base 2005 Xterra on 33's. Wife & daughters were in tears at one point. It was in A LOT better shape than it is now.
i wish there was an ultimate adventure release every day of the year.
GEORGE!!!!! He’s the best tour guide
Visited the prison last year on a trip and it was the best part of our trip. And the moonshine they make is even better.
That International is freakin sweet!
I live right there in Haywood county, Hurricane creek. We always camped there and fourwheeled there all our lives.

Hurricane Creak is a fun ride, been on it many times and videos to show for it!!
Had a uncle that worked and retired from the prison at brushy in the 60's to early 80s boy did he have some stories to tell.
Dang I wish I could have come along this year. Was literally in my back yard.
Loved seeing you guys run through my part of NC!
Sweet Ben waiting went back and watched 2020s episodes
The falcon jeep truggie is awesome 👌

Brushy mountain state penitentiary was in operation until 2009

Bring back DED and I'll buy the MT app again.
Reminds me of Mansfield Reformatory here in Ohio. It was the filming location for The Shawshank Redemption.
I'd take that green tacoma. That thing just eats, never skips a beat.
That penitentiaries, one of the most haunted ones in that area it’s been on numerous ghost shows
Cameraman: Fred how would you break out of prison?
Fred: drone man fly right out of here
Me 🤯🤣😂🤣😂🤣 rotflmao
Another great episode!
The trail right off the highway has gotta be Hurricane Creek!!
I'd like to know the location
It was
@@stepnenschivane7874 OnX has released the UA route from this year. If you cant find it i'll try to help if I can.
AaaaaWWWww! man soo sad was that the Glo best western in Asheville? Hurricane creek trail is 15 minutes from me how did I miss this!
You see those gas prices 😳

No Heat, No AC, No TV.. That is how prison SHOULD be today!
Enjoyed the episode but I thought this was about off-roading? Maybe a little more of that?
Check back tomorrow, you will not be disappointed.
How many of yall were ate up with Poison Ivy after the chainsaw work on that tree???😂
Went all that way up Hurricane Creek & didn't bother to hike up onto the incredible Max Patch bald at the top? Cloudy day?
Did that man just say Dave chapelle made a jeep truck?
Way too much time on the prison
DED more Fred n Dave!
FRED
I want to run Huracan Trail. Live in Knoxville Tn...
That looks just like the pen they used for the walking dead in one of the seasons. That’s the last season I watched because it got monotonous and felt like it was the same thing with different people every season
Bring back DED!
✌🏽😎
This is an awesome series but a commercial every 2 minutes sucks
What does a prison have to do with four wheeling? And you spent more time in motels and highway driving than offroad. MT is losing ground fast!
MOUT training ground.
Who all got poison ivy from cutting that tree?
Show me you're not an NC native by running a saw without gloves at face level
so america

yall keep doing Nate at Dirt lifestyle "dirty" showing him getting stuck breaking etc. I'm sure he did pretty good most of the time
Not doing Nate dirty, he brought the wrong vehicle for the trip. The two IFS Toyotas winched and stacked more rocks than the other 20 vehicles combined.
That’s kind of how it goes when you take an IFS rig rock crawling.
Old mate Nate just didnt want to smash his doors in. So he did the smart thing and winch.
More facial hair, cargo shorts and beer bellies than you can shake a stick at.
