    Christy was a terrible coach. Never standing up to the baseless fouls on Caitlin. She could’ve been more vocal with refs. Poor coaching is why she’s gone.

      Biggest difference for us is how she talks about her players ("Caitlin has bad habits") compared to how Steph White talks about the players. You can really see the difference in Lexie's face when she talks about Sides and Steph in this interview

    • @chad85100

      Every loss Sides would NEVER take accountability. She always threw her team and certain players under the bus. Many of those losses (most of them really) were because of poor coaching. She kept trying to force the players to fit her system (inside out) rather than finding the system that best fits her players strengths. Stupid plus never called timeouts when team was struggling but often called timeouts when Fever was on a roll. Made zero sense.

    Her 3pt avg of 67.3, combined with her backcourt of CC and Mitchell is such a great mix when defenders couldn’t stop the guards and she was a deadly option from 3 was the nail in the coffin of opposing teams. I’m glad she gets the recognition she deserves.

      Lexi was a bench warmer if it wasn't for Sides no one wouldn't know who she was unless you followed her in college. She is definitely a good role player, not great on offense creating her own shot but a streaky 3 point shooter. Her effort and hustle was exceptional probably the best on the team. They got rid of Temi so unless they replace her with a defensive person the fever will probably look worse than they did last year defensively

      I also believe Mitchell had a little bit of the veteran jealousy with Caitlin. One Mitchell got the ball in her hands she wouldn't give it up. She would dribble in circles for a shot no matter how good the look was. The all star break and her taking Wheelers spot in the skills competition. You know everyone wanted Clark but Caitlin stuck to her decision of not participating in any of the skills challenges. Then they got in the gym for what was really their first time to bond together and we all know the August Kelsey, Clark, and the whole team had. The basketball ball good, exciting, and fun to watch. The Dallas game is one of the best basketball games I ever watched, men's or womans. What a shoe both teams put on.

      @ just seems strange to have 17/18 year olds playing against 24/25 year olds in college. I get it though the pandemic, red shirt injuries etc. With NIL money college sports is now more like professional sports with the major schools and the minor leagues with smaller schools. The truth is there probably never was a level playing field to begin with. The money was always there, now it’s just out in the open and called NIL name image likeness 🧐🥹🤫

    Sides held back the development of the Fever by not playing Hull enough until later in season and by forcing CC into the wrong style of play. CC took over later and forced the rest of the team into a faster transitional pace, getting more shots in rhythm for the team.

    More fabrications: The show starts with Lexie talking about giving up on the season, but if you watch the Locked On interview with Hull, she was talking about the 2022 season, the 5-win season (before Sides), not 2024. And she qualified that comment in saying that in spite of the disappointed feeling, they developed a sense of hope and resilience that year. As for the 2024 season and "EXPOSES MAJOR...SECRETS," there are none in the Locked On interview. It's actually for the most part a very superficial interview -- and there's nothing from the locker room to speak of. Why does the Indiana Fever draw so many liars? Is it the Caitlin Clark effect, or that UA-cam pays (or both)?

    • @Derek_AZ
      @Derek_AZ 19 днів тому +1

      No need to put down people who have a different opinion than yours. I can't speak for other people but I can tell you why I don't think Slides is a good coach even though the did end up with 20 wins and made the playoffs. She was terrible at calling timeouts when the other team would go on runs. Typically in the 3rd quarter when the Fever had bid leads going into the half. It was mostly Caitlins unwillingness to lose that they would barley hold the lead or come back in the 4th qtr to win the game. She was also terrible at player rotation. Seems lime she the starters breaks predetermined and bot when the flow of the game dictated the best time to rest them. She can't make in game defensive adjustments to slow down the opponents. These are the big reasons I don't think she is a top tier head coach and sgree the Fever needed a change. Now I will cover if her better qualities as a coach. She developed a great team chemistry when it couldn't of been easy to do with the way Clark entered the league snd the huge spot light she brought with her. The season could have been very different if Mitchell didn't buy in. I don't think she did earlier in the season and it showed. She would refuse to pass the ball to Clark. I think Caitlin not performing in the skills competition at the all saltar game went a long way in that. Especially when Wheeler couldn't get there and Mitchell replaced her. You know everyone want Clark to do it. Then they had 3 weeks to practice and this where Slides team building skills and games brought the team together. In summation, I think Slides is a good coach, just not a good head coach at this time. Doesn't mean she won't or can't be later, but for now, not a goid fit for the Fever. I do agree with Slides statement after she was fired, leave it better than yiu found it. She definitely did
