My God shot came from Ezekiel 34: 11-16. The Lord gives a promise to those who are His people. He promises to seek out His sheep and bring them home. He will care for them and feed them. What a beautiful reflection of our Good Shepherd. He pulls us back into His fold, forgives our sins, cleanses all of our unrighteousness, and we become children of God. What an awesome God we serve!

Happy day 250, my friends! 🎉
This is my second year reading through the Bible with Tara-Leigh and the Bible Recap team. I'm so grateful that His word is alive and active, that its never changing, and that His promises are so evident on these pages. I love His faithfulness and how much He loves us. I love that He is so devoted to the hearts of His creation.
Father, God. You tell us to ask! Just to ask. Forgive me when I am too stubborn to ask. Forgive me when I forget to ask. I struggle with my emotions and my fickle heart. I go wayward and wonder what happened. Remind me to seek you first, YOU! The kingdom of God, your righteousness! It is YOU and you alone who can change my heart and renew a right spirit within me. Cause me to walk in Your ways and obey your rules. I can rest assured that You are actively engaged in driving out fear- but guide me and remind me! I am SO forgetful! Write my story. Fill my pages with heart change and obedience to You. I worship YOU. It was never meant for you to worship ME. Let me lift your name on high and sing your praises for all to hear. Let it be a sweet song in your ear.
Thank you, Father, for today. Another chance to try and show Your love to others better than I did yesterday.
Praise you, Father. In Jesus' Holy and mighty name I lift these heart cries up to you, Amen.

You were harsh because you are looking out for them and worry and care for your flock on the bus. God is sometimes harsh with us but He also does it for a reason and He also shows His love and caring. They will appreciate your caring words. By the way, be glad back in the day I wasn't on your bus. My girlfriend and I drove our female bus driver insane! She even separated us many times but it did no good. We were full of the devil and no doubt made her day interesting! I am surprised she didn't drop us off at a convent! 🤣

I too am an older person of 71 and only saved 12 years ago. It just goes to show you that God Waits a long time for us and is so merciful to do so. I am still in amazement that he kept me safe all this time so I could be saved.
the fact that at my age, God still waited for me. He is indeed an everlasting merciful God.

When Jesus proclaims one of His 7 “I AM’s” in John, as the Good Shepherd in Jn 10, He probably had Ez 34 in mind: “I Myself will tend My sheep and given them a place to lie down in peace [remember Ps 23], says the Sovereign Lord. I will search for My lost ones who strayed away, and I will safely bring them home again” (Ez 34:15-16). In Jn 10, Jesus’ point is to contrast Himself with the Pharisees, who are robbers and thieves, much like the bad shepherds of Israel in Ez 34:7-10. But in Ezekiel, we see something different: at Ez 36:26, the sheep get new hearts-tender, responsive hearts, not stony and stubborn-because the Shepherd will “put His Spirit in us” (Ez 36:27). This is a “peace that passes understanding,” because who can comprehend silly, short-sighted sheep being transformed to their core? Indeed, when Jesus gives us “life more abundantly” (Jn 10:10), we’re transformed from dumb animals driven only by instinct and appetite into Spirit-filled followers who can bring honor to “His holy name” (Ez 36:22).

    Ezekiel 36:26-27 NIV
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws."
God will give us a new heart. God will give, we will be able to save ourselves. There is nothing I can do to earn what God has given.... I cannot save others. God is in control. We serve God. He loves us, his children, but HE Is God. HE deserves all the worship and praise. Today I saw my house as I was reading and realized it is not mine. It is God's. All I have is because of God.... He is the provider, he is the doer, He is the maker. Wow! I am so small and insignificant, yet He cares for me and loves me enough to be my provider, my Savior and He is my good shepherd. God you are so great, I deserve nothing, yet Your blessings are overwhelming. Thank You, God!!!

Aloha, praise the Lord and good morning BR family. David's confidence is God as a His Shepherd Psalm 23 what God promise he will fulfill. Psalm 23:1-5, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the path of righteous in his name's sake. Yea I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. He preparest table before me in the presence of my enemies; he anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever". Glory be to God; he is where the JOY is!!!

“And when I bring you back, people will say, ‘This former wasteland is now like the Garden of Eden! The abandoned and ruined cities now have strong walls and are filled with people!’”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭36‬:‭35‬ ‭NLT‬‬
This verse reminded me of my favorite verse.
“For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19‬:‭10‬ ‭ASV‬‬
These two verse show that without God, we are empty (or at least not whole), and that God is substance and sustenance that we need to prosper and succeed in this life, on a physical and mental level, but most importantly on a spiritual level.
God is good, God bless all y’all today!

What God expects shepherds to do well for their sheep.
    Strengthen the weak sheep.
    Heal the sick ones
    Bind up the injured ones
    Bring back the strays
    Seek the lost ones
    Make sure they’re all fed
    Protect them from attack
Rule over them with gentleness and grace
All of these things God does for us first.
When these things are not done, God punishes the shepherd but also will rescue the sheep.
Instead of them becoming food for wild animals they themselves will be fed.
God Himself will seek them out.
    He feeds them with justice.
God drives out our fears by His very presence.
Then in great kindness while we are still against Him He gives us new hearts to live and love Him.
God loves us deeply. He has proven that.
However God is the point. Not us.
He is to be worshiped, not us.
“They shall no more be a prey to the nations, nor shall the beasts of the land devour them. They shall dwell securely, and none shall make them afraid.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭34‬:‭28‬ ‭
““Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭36‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭
“And you are my sheep, human sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Lord God.””
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭34‬:‭31‬ ‭
“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.”

God's purpose is not to worship us; we are supposed to worship Him. What we do either lifts up His name or profanes it. We are vessels for His glory.

God holds leaders accountable (34:10). He is our ultimate leader who looks after us and rescues us (34:11-12). He searches for the lost and brings back the strays, binds up the injured and strengthens the weak, and leads with justice (34:16). He saves us (34:22), makes a covenant of peace with us (34:25), and showers us with blessings (39:26).

Uhm, the shepherds are the priests of Israel, not the Kings. This is about God replacing the clergy with 1 shepherd. He is the chief priest and the king. Even though there was a king, Israel was a theocracy. The request of a king was a rejection of God's chosen government for them. He's against the "shepherds" because they allowed the sheep to chase the world's method of government. When Jesus comes in the gospels, he doesn't rail against the king (that's John the Baptist's job). Jesus rails against the Pharisees, Sadducees, scribes and other priests and replaces them. He replaces their temple with the temple of the body of believers.
