She's totally smiling. You can see the happiness and smiles on her face. My grandma looked so much like hers. And she never looked like she was smiling. But you can see it in her eyes
aww so cute. i love the frustration between you and your grandma. reminds me of me when i'm in the kitchen with my grandma and she's bossing me around. lol
Your grandmother is ADORABLE. I saw a great quote on the wall at Whole Foods that said, "If God had wanted us to follow recipes, he wouldn't have given us grandmothers."
Watching this episode brought tears to my eyes. I remember the first ever thing I made with my grandmother which was also the last because she died of breast cancer. Cherish those moments Laura !
Seeing you cook with your grandma always brings tears to my eyes! Some of my best memories with my own grandmother were when we cooked together - she passed away a few years ago but I love that she left all her wonderful recipes so I can still remember those times so vividly… love to both you and your beautiful nonna :)
As a subscriber here said, this is my favourite video of yours. Couldn't stop smiling during the whole video. Wish i could cook with my grandmas like you did with yours. Fourteen years has been since i last saw them. God bless your nonna!!
Laura and Nonna are adorable. Reminds me of a neighbor who filled her queen size bed with her pasta to dry it....thousands of little gnocchi dried and stored each week. Love the captions in this...NONNA ROCKS !!
best episode ever. teaches us to never EVER stop cooking, cherish the moments we have with people older than us, and learn us much as possible every day. So sad that being 14 now, I have no grandparents, yet I am so happy to see you as happy as you are today! deserves 1 000 000+ views. xx
I used to do my gnocchi with a fork and my husband recently surprised me with a gnocchi board! It took a few trial pieces but after I got the hang of it, it was so easy and quick! Loved hearing all the Italian! Great video. :D
I'm not Italian but I understood most of what you said! It put a smile on my face when I saw you with your nonna cokking. Spending time with grandmothers are priceless.
Laura these videos with Nonna brought tears to my eyes! I wasn't able to meet my Italian great grandmother ,but I could picture her making these same dishes....Thank you both!
Your grandmother is so sweet. You're going to cherish these moments someday. I never got to cook with my grandmother's, but I did cook a lot with my mother and I'm so glad that I did we had a lot of fun cooking together. I have a lot of great memories cooking with her for all the holidays. She live to be 93.

How near you are as I am living in Germany! My love for Italy I got it from my father. During the second war he was for a few month in Italy were he learned to love the land, the people and the language. He spoke the italian with enthusiasm - even in every italian restaurant or ice-cream shop we went. Till his age of almost 80 years he took clases in his favorite language. He died four years ago and I am shure he still loves Italy. Thank you very much for sharing your sweet Granny with us.
I love you Laura Vitale. Your nonna is amazing. I love cooking with my Nonna and Nonno all the time and I enjoy learning our traditions and special ways of cooking. You are so inspirational to me!
MariaShido Nona's are perfect, she is so cute and it is amazing how seniors no matter where they come from are a bit "scared" of cameras and technology, just serious and focusing on work.
Awww the memories!! Making cavatelli and gnocchi with my Grandma. She's gone now but if I think hard I can still smell her kitchen. Thank you Laura for this very special video.
My best friend is half Italian and her Nonna taught us how to make gnocchi when we were little, she had us rolling the pieces with our little hands and we were so proud when the plates were brought to the table. It is something I will never forget.
I love watching your videos in Italy when you go home and film with your grandmother... I’ve been watching your videos for 3 years and have learned so much, now I’m going to finally make an attempt to make gnocchi...
Dear Laura and Nonna, I can't tell you how much I love this recipe. I love pasta but I love gnocchi even more! It's so easy and quick to make especially in my kitchen aid. I always make this gnocchi recipe since I can't seem to find them here in central California. This is my all time favorite pasta recipe and I love pairing it with browned butter, lemon, Parmesan and Italian parsley or sage! I am using this recipe in 2018 and I will continue to use it for many many years to come. Thank you and your Nonna for these wonderful home cooked honest meals!
I love this! Not only do I adore gnocchi, but I visited Napoli for two weeks two summers ago and fell in love with the town. Lovely people, charming atmosphere, fantastic!

This is such a beautiful video ❤ I love the relationship you have with your grandmother and that you are fluent Italian with her and fluent English with us. I loved watching this video for that relationship you have with her maybe even more than the recipe. You’re blessed to have that upbringing and beautiful family. Thank you, Laura ❤. You’re a favorite chef of mine. Hang on to those Italian roots! I’m a Heinz’s 57 but my husband is full blooded italian and I understand the tie to the heritage ❤ We’ve been married 42 years and we were just talking about gnocchi tonight, which I know very little about. Again, Laura, thank you and bring us more Italian family videos!
