Hairs on the back of the neck rose at the start of this, joined by the goosebumps at the footage of the Ballarat turntable. I can't stress enough the debt we owe all the staff and volunteers that keep steam alive on our mainlines.
how do we get notice when the steam trains are coming to ballarat, I'm a photograper and i live next to the station If i could find out when there coming i could do a good photoshoot.
@Lachlan Smith Thank you I would like to do some professional photography for you guys ,hopefully we will have some nice weather next time your up this way.
Unusually news of this with film at Newport workshops and interviews was on channel nine news on Friday night although not the timings. Andrew Lund from nine news seems much more knowledgeable about railway news with appeal for the news.
Where does Steamrail publish a timetable for passing stations. I drove to Ballan for the return leg based on info from Ballarat station and I missed it!
@@markielinhart Aparrently Steamrail Victoria or 707 operations are the organisations to get in touch with for information on the steam trains particulars.
Tait also ran to quite a few destinations as well as Belgrave on Sunday. Described as Tait driver training. Quite a few vids on UA-cam. Not up to Pannier standard except the one by Taitset. Four car set. One UA-camr described it as the 1954 Tait set saying the colour scheme was in use in 1954. LOL.

A fantastic escape from these crazy times and reminder of when things were better. Thx.

6:23 I didn't know that conductors were allowed to horn!
Absolutely wonderful!👍
Any chance of a vid inside the Newport workshops? Would be interesting
Nice video mate I love the classic V/Line lettering used in the thumbnail and intro of the video.
Beautiful to see.
Excellent Video.
Love the R class. Always great to see flying along at line speed.
I imagine that the training also includes HOW TO BLOW A GOOD HORN.
There ain't nothing like it.
Fabulous
Top video Pannier! Looking forward to seeing more videos like this!
You can notice the coupler difference in the train coupler
Awesome 👍👍👍👏👏👏from Indonesia🙏🙏🙏
Nice video, as usual.
Is that steam engine capable of providing power to the carriages? Enough for all lights and AC?
Thanks you pannier
Good stuff!
Very Nice Pannier
Great video! The turntable looked a bit suss but did the job.
Doesn't the R look great on the Ballarat turntable. Great to see it being used again.
She only just fits onto the turntable there. Great stuff to see these engines being used.
